Rules for Comments

As I have started going through comments I started seeing the utility in reaffirming the ground rules as to what is acceptable and what gets deleted.  Please see the following criteria.

1.  Stay on point.
2.  Don't be a jackass.  If you feel you want to attack a point, great.  If you personally attack a commenter your comment will be deleted.
3.  Links are perfectly fine so long as it is not to misinformation sites or hate groups.  However well intentioned, if I see a "godlike productions" link it gets deleted out of hand.  I got my orders.

If I may, I would like to directly address the troll(s) to this site.  I am not now, nor have I ever been a communist.  I am not a member of a secret society but I did make it through Air Assault school.  I honestly cannot muster a single feeling as to whom will win the election. I served 14 years active duty in the Army and did a few tours in Iraq and Afghanistan.  I was not a Special Forces Sniper Ranger Frogman Ninja Second Class, like everyone else seems to be, but I did some cool stuff and have no regrets.  I am not aware of any babies I may have killed or people of color I oppressed.  I am now a weekend warrior/civilian/student. I have three kids and am on my second marriage.  She is probably not interested in you.  I know I am not giving you much to work with but I know you will come up with something that will doubtless crush my soul and/or put me on the path or righteousness.

I feel like there should be more but this is really it.  Simple, right?

You'll do fine, young man.

BTW....at my age, I qualify to call 99% of the men I meet "young man", so please don't take offense!

But can you see the Fnords?

That was probably much too obscure.

I'm with you, Sir. How should we address you? How about (enter your final military rank) Vanderbeogh.

"Simple... right?"

Yeah, works for me.

Welcome aboard. Sorry about what caused this "change in command" as I respect Mike and he was in a very small bunch of people that I do - not that it matters to anyone except me.

God Bless!

Oh, and concerning your "communist" comment, many here in America are communists and not even know it. They have never read the US Constitution, do not realized that the people themselves have duties under it, nor do they even know what real freedom is or that we have SEPARATION of our governments and the branches within them carrying out delegated duties that are in writing found within the US Constitution and each state's Constitution. They are more "communist" then they are American because of that lack.

Very simple, Thanks.

Prayers for You and Yours.

You're Dad is a Great Man.

How would You like to be addressed?

Endeavor to Persevere!

I am glad that this blog will continue with you at the helm. I hate to see your father go but it is one thing we all look forward to, dyeing. I was blessed to meet him once up in Pison. I enjoyed our visit. I am looking forward to joining him in Heaven soon. I'll be praying for you and your family also. I don,t have a lot but let me know if there is anything I can do.

This was a good post and you would do well to place it in the sidenotes so everyone has fair warning every time. May save you a lot of busy work later on. Your father was a good man and I'm sure that God smiled upon him as I pray he blesses you and yours.

"Probably not interested in you" ... so I have a chance? Alright ! Kidding. I don't see too many posts outside the bounds of the goal of this blog.

I've never seen those frogmen first class ninjas ... I guess that they are very good at what they do.

I really really really wanted to purchase a stack of first edition "Absolved" autographed by the author. I also understand there are many in Hell that would really really like to have a glass of ice water. My plan was to present a copy to each of my scum sucking Senators and to my scum sucking Congresswoman and to a few of my very favorite scum sucking liberal friends. But now none of that is likely.

So....

Now that your dad has passed the torch on this blog, perhaps at some point you can tell us if anyone has made any arrangements to finish and publish his novel? "Published Novelist" would go well with smuggler, bomb thrower, saboteur, keeper of the founding principles, Clinton enemy, breaker of the "Fast and Furious" story, and the other accomplishments that we will all remember him by.

I am truly honored with your continued support. As to what to call me: hey ugly, hey you, Matthew, all work. I am not particular. Thank you for clarifying.

Re: Fnords, I was previously unfamiliar with the term and took a quick trip to google. How could I have forgotten an illuminati blurb? No, I do not think David Rockefeller personally wants to kill my grandma. Thank you for pointing that out.

Re: putting the rules on the side bar, that is an excellent idea. I will not mess with the look of SSI until later.

Re: Ninja Frogmen, those bastards are very real. I see them on the internet everyday.

Thanks Matt for continuing SSI.

Rock on, man, rock on!

Large shoes are those you will fill, but we all, sooner or later, have to pick up the mantle of our predecessors, or give up and give in. Except for the trolls that would fold in week one of any disaster, those that come here, I believe, are those that truly do want to make this country great, break the chains of oppression, and defy the liberal left cowards that would sell us down the road of slavery to a communist or socialist Hell.

Take up that mantle and keep the goals in sight. Life. Liberty. The Pursuit of Happiness. Oh, and a strong 2nd Amendment right to ensure those liberties to ourselves, and as it has been put before, our posterity.

I think you need to change your login...your posts show up as "Posted by Dutchman6," your father. He WAS a communist....and I don't hold that against you, but do against him. I'm willing to happily read your postings as YOU and YOUR thoughts. Differentiate between the two of you somehow, just to keep the air clear.

Thank you Matthew for taking on this assignment. It's a big void you'll be filling.
When my Dad was in his final stages on this Earth, my oldest Brother was with him at his bed side every night. He said he sat and read to him. He picked Herman Melville's Moby Dick. He said he picked that book, because my Dad had read it to us when we were kids. I don't remember it from that time, but it does seem appropriate in hind sight.
And to Mike, I say "Hasta la Vista" my friend.

I am very glad this site will continue. What a fine tribute to Mike and his hard work. I suspect someone ***cough cough*** just got indigestion with the news. The type that did not serve overseas in combat zones, but their all too short hitch in Club Fed. NOG

Great men recognize their mistakes in life, summon up courage to accept the consequences and promise to never make them again.

Wise men learn from their mistakes and challenge others to learn before they repeat avoidable inevitable failings.

Mike was the embodiment of a great and wise man. He accepted his human frailty and fallibility and braved the humiliation of deception. Humiliation and deception gave rise to spiritual and intellectual strength and a passionate pursuit for truth; fearless, pursuit and furious determination to expose hypocrisy and deceit and their efforts to steal away our God given fortunes in spirit and wealth in liberty.

Mikes efforts may become the seminal foundations for freedoms revival in America. Recognizing and proselytizing for patriot communities, organizing for a sustainable survival and training for defense against armed intrusion and subversion of the community spirit and values will be the salvation of freedom and liberty in our futures.

Thank you Mike. Your personal fight here is ending. Your flag is not fallen, it gives color to every breeze and wind.

God speed.

May flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.

Hey Matt, Thank You for taking up the reins, I am sure that Mike chose the most qualified to continue this task. Thank You for letting him know that his work will not just fade away and that the fight will continue as he taught. May God shower you and your family with his blessings.

I'll say it again.
Thank you, Matthew, for picking up the SSI Command. And "Dutchman6" works for me.
For all you Army pogs and grunts, and everyone else, "6" indicates the unit command and commander. (Salutes, about face, march out)

I realize this is getting ahead of the curve, and sounds morbid, but when you lay your father to rest, could you please give us a bit of the funeral service, so we can all have a good weep at the passing of a man who did the best with what he had, and stood up against implacable foes, and made the most of it.

Sorry. Getting misty already. (Damned dust and allergies).

Good ground rules. Don't underestimate the value of those who would be helpful to you, just ask, there are savvy people who will step up. Also, this blog really could use a bit more OPSEC on the computers that have admin access.

Glad to see you picking up the struggle, Matt. I share posts from this page constantly on my social networking.
I appreciate what your Dad has done for our country.
Those of us who do 'blog" or lead social network communities must deal with @$$holes all of the time. Remember to just catch your breath and walk away for a minute or two before responding.
I found thats the best way to not look like an @$$hole also.

Welcome Home Matt

Your father is one of the few true American hero's even if he denies it. History will prove that out when Americans write that book.

..it's going to be a helluva ride.
