Cops Worried After Citizens Engage in a New Form of Crowd-Funded, Direct Action Against Police State.

Rather than sticking to the traditional form of protest in which signs are held and slogans are chanted, these citizens have taken direct action and offered a grassroots, crowd-funded incentive structure to end police brutality in their community. They have offered a $2,500 reward to anybody who submits information leading to the arrest or termination of cops who brutalize or kill people.

Yay!

It's getting to the point where everybody should wear body cams, in case one is attacked by police whose body cams malfunction at just the right time.

I like people taking the initiative...

Hmm, join with others to do this. Outstanding.
And, they even give names.

I especially like the part where they name the "suspects." Too bad they didn't publish their addresses too.

Why just police? I can see this being expanded to all levels of government.

Good to get their feet wet here, and establish a good working organization, but it needs to expand to include every level of corruption.

Careful recording people - without their knowledge.
It's a felony to do so in some areas.

What better demonstrates the idiocy of America today? Video and Audio of someone lying, cheating or otherwise engaging in nefarious, dishonest and corrupt behavior - especially criminal behavior - and YOU are the guilty felon who can no longer vote or keep and bear arms.....

Pure madness.

But-but-but--these are the 'oath keepers' you're so fond of!
This must be a mistake!

Make sure that the camera live streams the video to an off-site storage unit. Most cops don't give a damn about laws permitting their being recorded by the public.

Haven't seen any oath keepers tried and convicted of things like killing innocent people or beating people for no reason or anything of that nature. Have you anon?? Or is trolling bullshit by implication all you have to offer?

One PURPOSE of oath keepers is to demonstrate that pukish trolls like yourself care not about solutions or truth - all you care about is your fucking anonymous trolling.

Some cops are criminals. Some are thug pinks with a badge and gun gang status. Those criminals must be outed and hammered for their actions. Any JBT ought to get a boot on their own neck. That said, most Cops BECAME cops to fight criminals not to become criminals.

So do you want to seek solutions - as OATHKEEPERS do or do you just wanna play pink biatch here at SSI?

Anon 10:09 -
Recording the public acts of public officials is legal everywhere in the country, even in MA. Any laws to the contrary are null and void. Arresting you for it is a guaranteed paycheck.

See Simon Glik for example.

Not surprising at all. Stockton's municipal government bankrupted the place, and presumably turned to tried and true methods of "alternative revenue collection.

California has a lot of bad apples in its police forces, Calexico and Imperial, and at least one other agency in just Imperial county come to mind.

Nearby Quartzsite, AZ is having the same problems.

Where are the honest cops? This method is ingenious, and empowers citizens who have been afraid to go to city hall, being told their written complaint about an officer is a sworn statement, and they will be prosecuted if any mistakes are made on the form.

Citizens taking their towns back. I like the sound of that.
