I thought I'd seen mountains until I saw the Cascades.
Twedes Café in North Bend has the nicest waitresses I've seen outside the South and dynamite homemade oatmeal with blueberries.
Bigg Dogg Firearms, also in North Bend, is a great little firearms emporium run by veteran Michael Marinos.

Welcome to Washington.
Welcome to WA. State! I am a New Orleans native that moved up here in 99'. I live on a small island in the San Juans and have the most incredible view of the Cascades right out of my bay window. The people are friendly and hard working and there is a real sense of community here that I did not feel in NOLA. Less crime and less hatred too.
There are a lot of patriots here too, and we all suspect foul play over the latest gun grab initiative. A few months back another initiative over GMO labeling failed to pass and EVERYONE is suspicious of that (Monsanto, Im talking about YOU!)
Welcome to the Pacific Northwest. Look forward to seeing you speak tomorrow.

Amen Brother! I used to live in that.
If you get tired of the rain, remember the eastern half is desert, with rattlesnakes and scorpions to boot! (And pretty much NO liberal politicians...)
And across the Puget Sound is the Olympic Range!
IF that's not big enough, you can look at Mt. Rainier (14,000+ above sea level peak) straight down the I-5 while heading South into Seattle. A beautiful city, run by crony politicians with ambition to become Detroit/Chicago/Gary.
I graduated HS in Seattle 1986, got out in '89. It was a great time and place to be a hiking Boy Scout!
LIKE CLOCKWORK: Pension plans to be looted nationwide as Congress okays institutional theft of funds

That's the way I felt when I saw Pike's Peak from Colo. Springs. I couldn't believe the size! This country has some of the most beautiful places in the world and the scum elite want it all for themselves.
So far from home. Very different on the left coast.
Be careful of appearances and of unintended consequences.
Yes, the Cascade strato-volcanos are real stand alone mountains.
Not just lumps sitting on a mile high plateau, like the Rockies.
