If SB53 passes, I foretell an EXCELLENT opportunity to go into the ammunition smuggling business. Just meet me across the border in Nevada.
What IS IT about the basic law of Supply And Demand that politicians just FAIL to learn and understand?
This is how the Mexican and Oriental drug cartels got started. Make what used to be a perfectly legal, easily obtained commodity, suddenly ILLEGAL, and what do you get? Smugglers, black markets, high prices (and profits).
Anonymous@7:10AM: Let me share a story with you and others who would think about smuggling. Some years ago when I was a LEO in SoCal, I attended a presentation on assault rifle/gun laws put on by two of the corrupt perfumed princes from the CA state attorney general's office. They bragged how they would send agents into the parking lot of the Cashman Center in LasVegas every time there was a gun show. Their agents would write down all of the CA license plates. Then, the CHP would set up surveillance at the CA border and interdict these folks as they drove back. This was going on over 14 years ago. Be warned.
California residents and all Americans Quit crying online and get your asses down to the state houses when these bills come up, go to the hearings and speak, sign the sheets opposing their usurping, show up and make your presence known or YOU will let them win by default. Get active locally, don't count on just the NRA, YOU have to get personally involved
"If SB53 becomes law, you won't be able to order ammo online..."
I guess the author never heard of Silk Road - or of its multiple replacements now that it's been killed off. Commerce will continue despite government efforts to turn us into sheep. Bitcoin, anyone?
Bitcoin is NOT secure. You can and will be turned over as soon as a subpoena is written. It's already happened in other cases involving Bitcoin. You're not as anonymous as you think.

Local Airport, XYZ car rental, gunshow, return to airport. HA. Think everybody (including CalLEO) hasn't figured THAT ONE out yet? And who the hell is going to cover every gunstore (not just gunshow) in Arizona, Nevada and Oregon?
Yep, they can try, but that's half the fun of smuggling.
And if they can't interdict 90% of the drugs entering the U.S. (TPTB numbers, not mine) what makes anyone think they'll do any better with ammo (which even explosive doggies ain't trained to sniff.
