If Honda is concerned about criminals using body armor for protection against cops, the cops just need to learn to do head shots. But, most "civilians" can shoot more accurately than cops!
I wasn't aware that anything short of full-on kevlar-backed ceramic would stop a .30 cal (except for the low power M-1 carbine like they used in Korea) or higher power projectile any way. I have also read that under 50 yards even ceramic might not stop a FMJ 7.62X51 much less the kind of round that can put a bull elk on his ass at 300 yards. There's enough on a true high power rifle round that even if the bullet doesn't penetrate the target isn't gonna be interested in serving any warrants or killing any "civilians" for a while. That would be especially true if the aim point was just to the shooter's left of the lower inside corner of that shiny thingy that members of the "world's largest criminal street gang" fancy.

How long before we hear about "assault vests?"
