NRA Says It Was A Mistake To Call Texas Open Carry Gun Protesters ‘Weird’

A National Rifle Association executive says it was a mistake to criticize Texas gun rights advocates who have been carrying military-style assault rifles in public places around the state.
The collectivist "Media Matters" also notices.

Is there anyone out there that still thinks the NRA is about 2A freedoms? Buehler? Buehler? If so, I've got a bridge to sell them. This kind of crap is why I resigned my Life membership years ago. All I ever got from NRA was a crappy magazine and phone calls begging for money to fight the latest crisis. Give your bucks to GOA.

Even if it wasn't weird, it was certainly a stupid thing to do.

I repeat. If it were not for The NRA, you would not be able to legally own any gun beyond a single-shot weapon today. I will continue to support The NRA. It takes mega-bucks to defend our 2nd Amendment rights these days. That's why they want your money. THAT'S WHAT IT TAKES. The NRA has the funds to do wage the fight. The rest of those organizations don't. If you're jealous of the high salaries paid to NRA executives, you might as well be a liberal democrat. Those guys run a multi-million- dollar organization. They are good at what they do and deserve those salaries, just like top executives of other organizations.

Old Greybeard -NOT trying to be argumentative here, which act was the most stupid: the act of carrying a long gun legally or the over reaction of the patrons who were 'scared' and the resulting actions of the restaurants?
I'll stipulate that some folks do not use sufficient common sense as to when/where/how they open carry, but that ALSO applies to the hysterical reactions of the antis, and the media hype that accompanies it...........
