From the Washington Times: Operation American Spring falls flat: ‘This is very disappointing,’ Texan says
From The Blaze: ‘Operation American Spring’ Comes to Washington, Was Only Millions Short of Projected Turnout
The collectivist press sneers: Guarantee Of 10 Million 'Operation American Spring' Protesters Off By Just Under 10 Million.
Attendees took turns speaking to the crowd, including one man from New Hampshire who said it was a “disgrace” that “only “four or five hundred people showed up” (by our count, just over one hundred people were present).
And this from Gawker: Compared to the Tea Party, Operation American Spring is... nothing, in truth. Like, literally tens of people sitting around being crazy. No, really, check out the photos below.

That's what happens when you want so badly to lead a revolution that you forget to organize a revolution to lead.
the guy from NH was likely Jack Kimball. he ran the "granite state patriots", which was a good group until he turned it into a PAC, then ran for governor. when that didn't happen he ran for RNC chair and won....only to be ousted by the Sununu's for not paving the way for romney. Sununu is the same guy who told everyone romney was "the only one who could win" and is currently backing the next bush.
what they forget is that a "arab spring" type revolt relies on implied violence "we go to prayers on friday and you will be a greasy spot on the floor by monday if we don't get what we want". for implied violence to work it has to be both plausible, and unstoppable. having everyone hump down to washington to do this was a mistake. holding many smaller rallies in state capitols might have worked better....and you also imply that having the state rallies mount up and ride to washington if needed is a possibility.
The 9/12/09 Teaparty march on Washington had a verified turnout of 300k+. It was worthless. A bunch of anti big government speeches and some very good signs. No one will remember it, except those whom were there.
would also have been nice to have a little advanced warning I read alot of gun rights blogs (always starting with Mikes:) and the first I heard of it was the washtimes on Tuesday
I'm a gun rights supporter and a gun owner 25 times over. I stay pretty quiet. My sidearm will do the talking if need be.
A minor detail they forgot about: Most of the folks who would show up at something like this probably couldn't take off work.
The time for these rallies is coming to a close. Even if 100K showed up, the media and the PTB would have eschewed and ridiculed the effort. Stay home and organize your AO. Get prepped and prep your tribe.
The PTB are prepping. Witness the latest acquisitions by the Lettuce Police. An economic correction will be inevitable within the next 18 months. Flag-waving and speeches are fine if you still celebrate July 4th. We are long past that. It all ended in 2008 when Dubya, Hank Paulson and the Wall Street Banksters stole 900 Billion of our tax money and the sheeple did nothing.
"Implied violence" is the key, alright. The idea of marching to D.C. unarmed guaranteed failure regardless of the turnout.
You don't go trying to pick a fight without the means to WIN. Your opponent will either ignore you or simply wipe you out. Even with OWS, with millions that DID turn out, the protesters were safely ignored. Why? Because there was no threat of implied violence.
If, say, 100,000 people showed up with weapons and the WILL to use them, they wouldn't be able to ignore it. Sorry, big-boy rules trump "university protest" tactics.

Spontaneous? No Way! Organizers Speak in Egypt

"We’ll if I had a $100 for every time Anderson Cooper or someone on CNN or Fox or any of the other pundits, reporters, or talking heads told the story of the demonstrations in Cairo being the product of a “spontaneous” uprising of the Egyptian people, then ACORN International would have the money to open a half-dozen new cities around the world this year."
Laizze-faire doesn't exploit anyone; Your collectivist agitations cause the cronyism and imperialism you claim to be fighting - mainly by way of the money-printing Marx was calling for.
That's actually how Great Britain became imperialist: currency debasement.

Even our forefathers realized that there comes a time when talking just doesn't work anymore.
It was a failure period..One we did not need...By claiming that the militia would show up in the million and failing..It made it look like there is no militia of any size..are the right..I think not..but sheep will fall into line faster when they think there is no alternative..

I find it of interest that I cannot find any info on Harry Riley from before last winter.
It really makes me wonder who is following and promoting him.
"... sheep will fall into line faster when they think there is no alternative."
This is why OAS is needed: It demonstrates to all how effective an exclusively peaceful movement is. At later stages in this game, you don't want people second guessing this. Even in Egypt, it took the military to act.
It also shows just how vital commandeering the mainstream media is to any American movement, and, if nothing else, helps build up more awareness and support.
