I switched over to extremely hard cast alloy's (my hand loads) and they run fine with no more fouling than a jacketed bullet, much lower cost and are readily available. They are another option for we who shoot more than a few rounds at a time.

I managed to pick up some x39 at Wally World for about the same price as AIM, and I didn't have to buy 1000 rounds.

Still no dice on .22 though. Sad when it's cheaper to shoot the SKS than the Marlin :-(

Those sellers who sell cheapest still tend to sell out fast. We're still in a high demand period, with .22 LR supply still the one in most short supply. Production lines can't keep up with .22 demand, and you can't reload it. I am encouraged to see other calibers coming down in price, and by seeing more availability on store shelves as well as the sites of online sellers.

Yes, but it is a pretty slow trend! If only it dropped as fast as it went up.

i knew yesterday was going to be a good day when i walked into wally world and scored .22LR for $0.07/rd, and good CCI too...and they had several more crates to unload. the really odd thing is, their ammo usually comes in on tuesday morning...and the local hoaders are all in line. these guys have several 10,000 each, but still buy every round they can get their hands on...if you want to blame someone for the shortage, just watch the line at wally world on ammo day.

Almost feel guilty - but not quite. Was taking inventory in the bunker the other day. Between subsonic 60gr, standard velocity 40gr, Cb caps, HP and misc I'm-not-sure-what-it-is, I found ~35K of .22. O'course that's been collected over 20 years or so and I haven't had time to do any shooting for about that same time...
