Tip of the boonie hat to Keep and Bear Arms for this one: Gun owner unarmed, unwelcome in Maryland.
I'm starting to regret using the Gaelic phrase meaning "kiss me arse" to the faux Irishman Governor O'Malley the other day. I should have found something stronger.

I've got to be sure to drive around the People's Socialist "Republic" of Maryland in the future.
This is bullshit! Instead of John Filippidis thinking about cancelling his CCW, he should fight back by suing the neo-nazi police officer. The officer had no probable cause. He didn't even have a reasonable suspicion for stopping those folks. Anyone who treated me like shit, in front of my family, or even the family dog, can stand-by. I'll never back down. You would never get away with calling me a liar for free. I'd own that piece of shit. Too many Americans are intimidated into submission by these police state scum. If Mr. Fillippidis gives up his CCW, then the pus bags have won. Even during the initial verbal confrontation, once the officer had set the tone, he'd get as good as he was giving. Not one more inch, anytime or anywhere!
"Reasonable suspicion for stopping" - it's plain that the real reason for stopping them was the fact that a car with a FL plate was owned by a guy with a FL CCW, but there may have been a valid reason for the stop.
The victim says that the cop eventually let him off with a warning, but didn't mention what the warning was for. If the offense he was warned about was BS, he would have told the reporters it was BS.
The thing I worry about is that once you have a CCW, you're in all sorts of law enforcement data bases! If you think canceling your concealed carry permit gets you out of the data bases or out of the line of fire, you're dreaming.
CCW "permits" are a sham - it is voluntary registration. "To keep and bear arms" makes no distinction over WHERE you carry. Only modern day do-gooders have found such a requirement by pulling it out of their collective ass. If you go to the trouble of getting one, you are for lack of better word, stupid.
Before any CCW holders launch into a butt-hurt tirade over that statement, just ask yourself one question: Who is the person who WILLINGLY submitted fingerprints to the local sheriff even though you did nothing wrong? If you answered "I did", then you must be your local sheriff's willing little bitch. You want to keep your freedom? Then goddamn it KEEP it and don't attack someone who points out that not only did you give it away, you PAYED A FEE to give it away. Now ask yourself again: Who is acting like the State's little bitch?
I contacted the article author to get contact for the man in the story. I live very close to him, and travel the same route for the same reasons. I researched this extensively, and as long as you have the 3-step safe transport and don't leave the interstate, then federal law allows transport between legal locations for ownership. The fact that he is considering giving up his CCW is BS. We need more legal carriers, not less. I quit stopping anywhere in Marylandistan about 10 years ago.
Makes me wish I knew how to say "Bite Me Crank, Matey" in Irish Gaelic. That would be my message to that governor, and the other scum who would take away our rights.
The way that Mr. Filippidis was treated is inexcuseable. No law abiding citizen should ever be treated like that.
So the "LEO" now wants us to just open fire on him before he railroads us to jail.
Would I be wrong to be thinking I need a divorce lawyer as well as the lawyer to sue the living hell out of the "LEO"
But Filippidis shows us he is not a relative of Leonidas, by openly considering GIVING UP his CCW so his life is easier... in dealing with jackboot thugs.
I don't know about him, but I WILL DIE FREE. I hope it is 40 or 50 years from now, but if circumstances demand - tomorrow is fine too.
You do have a very few remaining rights, but they are getting much fewer. I am offering the following because apparently many patriot news folks are mystified on how they know certain things. The article that triggered my posting this is below the following info....
A Friend is a local town cop right here in Alabama. Most (and soon to be all..according to him) local and HP vehicles in the US are now equipped with a touchscreen data link to a DHS/NSA central source
which contains information on just about everything about you.
The data are cross linked to provide the contents of your entire data mine from a single input such as a license plate number, an ss number, etc, Courtesy Of your NSA
When a query is made, the system returns all known data about you on a single, scrollable screen such as whether you have a CCW, are wanted on a warrant, the names of your immediate family, known friends, (which is why passengers are also asked for ID) insurance carrier and validity, home and cell phone numbers, recent traffic cam info, recent credit card charges, and most everything else you can imagine, probably including your style of underwear.
Being forewarned is about all the defense we have left, but be aware, that lying to a cop is grounds for arrest, and at the very least is sufficient suspicion to search your vehicle.
NEVER TALK TO POLICE, except for yes and no and "am I free to go?" There is no reason to talk, because they already know...
The above is personal knowledge... Be safe out there....

The revolting part of this episode is what happened to Mr. Fillipidis. The surprising part is that he passed in and out of occupied territory(NJ) without being caught. I think it is safe to say he would be in jail here if he had been caught. As far as following the law regarding traveling with/transporting firearms, ask Brian Aitken how well that works. As for me, I have to stay and fight for the time being. Re: defy, resist, smuggle.
In order to avoid any confusion, if I created any, Mr. Aitken and I share the same first name. I am not he,in case anyone mistakenly thought so.
