Logistics: Thrift store score -- a web belt for a buck and a half.

Michael's Chinese web belt nested inside USGI Type II for comparison.
A reader writes in:
Like you always say, check the thrift stores. I stopped at the Salvation Army on a whim and they had some Chinese knock offs of USGI pistol belts. They aren't as strong or well built as USGI but still pretty strong and they were $3.
I've got a USGI, but "two is one and one is none" so for $3 I'd pick one up. Then when I went to pay, they turned out to be half off so I only spent $1.50. They had more but I don't have anyone to cache for. I did stop by a nearby gun dealer and tell him about them so he could either spread the news or pick them up himself for resale.

Nice. I scored a GOre-Tex Winter Parka (desert camo) for $13 during Christmas holidays. Shopping at cities with military bases (the more the better) can pay off well.

Seems like you can find just about anything in a thrift store nowadays!
