"The idea that armed American citizens could stand up to our military is beyond fantasy."

Bob Owens takes note: "Gun-grabbing Notre Dame Philosopher: successfully resisting tyranny is fantasy."
Owens comments: "There’s this idea among authoritarians that the arms of the citizens, if need be, can be suppressed easily by repressive government. Those who think there are current (or likely future) government actions in this country that would could long survive an armed resistance are living a statist fantasy. The idea that armed American citizens couldn’t stand up to a relative handful of authoritarians is beyond fantasy."
If I felt better and wasn't busier than a cat trying to cover up crap on a tin roof, I might take a moment to counsel the Professor directly myself. Maybe this weekend. Maybe not.

We've seen this kind of "analysis" many times in the past. Invariably there is an assumption that the U S military would support the government as a cohesive force. This is not how our ancestors behaved in 1775. Some of His Majesty's subjects took up arms in support of the rebellion, and some against. But perhaps a more relevant event is the way the existing U S forces reacted in 1860. I recall seeing an old photograph of an assembly of U S Army officers prior to the Civil War. In it were the men who would soon become the commanders on both sides of the bloodiest conflict seen in North America to date.

In short, if such an event should come to pass again, and I for one pray that it does not become necessary, the forces opposing the establishment will likely face part of the regular military, and be supported by another part.

The US military(ALL OF IT) as it stands today, could not fight a single battle V the US ARMY of 1960 and win. The US military has been so downsized and underfunded for the last 25 years that the military power and weapons of the first Gulf War are gone. They have been sold off ,scraped, or placed in depot storage. The US MILITARY is all bluff, lacking the "force projection" to occupy Texas. We the patriots and gun owners out number EVERY solder and cop ON EARTH by millions to one. The day we have the balls to ignore the NOT NOW types and call the feds bluff is the day we take it back.--- You are not helping anymore Mike. Your time in this is over, I know you won't quit-but you should. The goodwill you have built up over a lifetime is being destroyed by your anger at your eminent death and all the drugs you are taking. You have done great things Mike, but its time for you to hang it up.

I am sure that King George III thought much the same thing. To bad both of he and this idiot were and are wrong. The elected class must soon be taught a lesson. THEY WORK FOR US. THE GOVERNMENT EXISTS BY THE GRACE OF THE PEOPLE. Soon, as more and more people realize that we have a thugocracy running this country that consent will be revoked in a violent manner. Those that seek to oppress and enslave us will soon be taught a very hard but lasting lesson. DON'T FUCK WITH THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. You do so at your peril.

Every lesson in history tells them: "Don't fuck with the People"

The people endure for ever; are totally unforgiving; remember every userpation and persecution; through many generations.

Without exception the People seek retribution.
