Judging from mainstream media stories, it almost appears pro-gun activists are losing this fight. Rino's, showing their true colors by crossing the aisle, are daily fare. I'm no longer influenced by any of it. I feel both sides are going to lose untold numbers, because idiots lit a fuse that no one knows how to put out. The only common ground will a battle field. The Grim Reaper will rear his ugly head. Then everyone will be wondering, "how did it ever come to this?"
These folks are having a "debate" amongst themselves in a complete vacuum, genuinely oblivious to the consequences of trying to implement foolish ideas.
I think it's particularly ironic that whenever a link takes us to one of Kurt's or David's stories on this that the prominent ad is for Pristiq. There's no detail about the drug but plenty detail about the side effects being suicidal ideation, etc.
P.S. I'd like to leave a comment there, but until Examiner provides an alternative to signing in with the CIA's information pipeline (FascistBook), folks will have to read them here.
Go to Arlington. Look at those fields covered with neat ordered rows of crosses, stars, and the occasional crescent. Those men and women served and in many cases died so that the parents of Sandy Hook get their vote. But they served and died so that we get a vote too.
I don't think the issue is decided or will be decided by the result of that vote. The gun banners never give up. They want half of the cake they graciously left us the last time we had this debate. They demand a "national conversation" on the extent of our rights, as if that conversation hasn't been going on for all of my lifetime. But the results of that conversation have not been to their liking, so they pretend it hasn't happened. Just like they will demand another vote if they lose the one Obama is demanding now.
But at some point there will come to pass a "Captain Parker" moment, and the "reset button" on our republic will have been pressed for good or ill. I pray they see what they are pushing their fellow Americans towards and back off before something irreversable happens.
The South entered The War Between the States convinced of their inevitable victory based on the obvious fact that their cause was just. The fact that they has no arms factories, no powder works, no cannon foundries, and their economy was dependent upon exports they had no navy to defend were obviously irrelevant.
The gun banners are convinced of their inevitable victory, because their cause is obviously just. But we have the guns.
The question is, will they see the error of their ways before or after they force us to beat the crap out of them?
Pro rights folks are losing.... Those who aim to impose limitation after limitation and permission after permission (and denying same) are winning. The NRA said it was gonna stand and fight - it just wasn't said that it would be the RIGHTS people they were going to oppose.
Coming to a state near you- NRA lobbying that produces forced fingerprinting, trading away HIPPA protections, required NRA "instruction" multiple permission slips and hundreds of dollars in various fees. All as prerequisites so that you can then exercise your ummmm rights. Oh and don't forget that shotguns and rifles aren't covered by the NRA permission slips, gotta leave them within the home.
Folks long laughed at Illinois. Then Obama cancer infected you all. Maybe it would be a good idea to tell the NRA that what it's doing here is WRONG and that you won't stand for it. I implore my countrymen- do not let this happen without the NRA experienceing a huge backlash. Our rights are not permissions for government and lobbyists to discuss and vote on in their own little vacuum. The NRA needs tone called out nationally for what it's doing here- which sure feels like Obamas own bidding.
“Nothing we’re going to do is going to fundamentally alter or eliminate the possibility of another mass shooting or guarantee that we will bring gun deaths down to a thousand a year from what we’re at now,” Biden told reporters after meeting with Senate Democrats in the Capitol.
They want a vote for the shooting victims and their families?
Vote for Constitutional Carry (open or concealed without any licensing required) for adults in every state, with no restrictions on carry by adults in schools at any level other than the use of reasonable care.
Vote to reimburse teachers and school staff up to $1,000 to acquire and carry a pistol in .380 Auto or larger, personal defense ammo and on-body holster and pay the reasonable cost of initial firearms training and quarterly proficiency practice on a range via a Federal income tax refund for documented activity (letter from school administration attesting to meeting carry requirements for the $1000 in addition to copies of receipts). Carry in a purse or bag should not qualify and should be discouraged as it does not provide immediate access if necessary and does not demonstrate continuous control of the weapon.
Vote to teach weapons safety to children just like we now teach fire safety, drug, alcohol, and tobacco safety, via a program similar to NRA's Eddie Eagle. Make sure that you have someone other than Lee Paige conduct the training.
Think how many lives will be saved and how much money will be saved by these common sense measures.
"These folks are having a "debate" amongst themselves in a complete vacuum, genuinely oblivious to the consequences of trying to implement foolish ideas."
Now I understand how wars start: "It seemed like a good idea at the time."
Since I'm prepared to kill anyone who arrests me for bullshit "violations", I no longer worry much about the laws. Whatever is coming, let it come. I'm going to be using the "counter-economy" more and more as time goes on. http://c4ss.org/content/724
By the way, did you guys catch this? Unbelievably vile. I guess if the enforcers are now going with "no more hesitation", we can do that too. Sauce for the gander...

His kids' schools are not gun free zones, either. At least not while the secret service is there, which is whenever Barry's girls are.
WE all know that dead democrats do vote ...

I'd like to hear from the Fort Hood massacre victims....
How would they vote?

No longer care.
No compromise.
No obedience.

I fear the soft war is very near its end.

Boob, thy name is Biden.
. . . just wait until you get BETWEEN Earths (I and II). Now THAT's really fun! There's one where the cat's already dead.
May his kids suffer the same fate as Emilie Parker . . . whoever she was . . . or wasn't.
“Nothing we’re going to do is going to fundamentally alter or eliminate the possibility of another mass shooting or guarantee that we will bring gun deaths down to a thousand a year from what we’re at now,” Biden told reporters after meeting with Senate Democrats in the Capitol.
These new gun laws are for what purpose ?

The thousands of civilians in Pakistan and all over the world who Obama has killed with drone strikes deserve a vote.
The thousands of people in Mexico killed by drug cartels armed in an operation that Obama hides behind with executive privilege deserve a vote.
The 16 year old US citizen that Obama killed with a drone strike deserves a vote.
The innocent people killed by Al Queda linked terrorist groups in Libya and Syria deserve a vote.
The sick and elderly among us who use medical marijuana and face armed raids with people who have actual assault rifles to stop them deserve a vote.
The people who have their houses searched without a warrant, or their phone convos and email convos monitored without a warrant deserve a vote.
The people who have been indefinitely detained or assassinated by Obama and his secret kill list thanks to his NDAA deserve a vote.
The whistleblowers being prosecuted by the obama admin at a record level deserve a vote.
The reporters being prosecuted under a WWI Espionage Act at levels higher than all other Presidents combined deserve a vote.
