When "government" can by regulation deny a citizen the fundamental right of due process, (See U.S. Constitution, ratified 1789), "government" is no longer operating by the consent of the governed. This, and other examples, will probably lead to yet unknown consequences; Some of those consequences may actually be intended and according to some plan, for all we know or are able to determine.

My personal mistrust in government has never been higher.

@ Frederick: I couldn't agree more with your last statement. My brother was MI and told me repeatedly prior to his death to NEVER trust the government. Whatever they tell you they are doing they are actually doing just the opposite. The Founders have been rolling over in their graves for some time now unfortunately.
