And now, it seems, we are to have a retroactive political litmus test for citizenship.
Lawmakers seek to strip citizenship from people supporting terrorism against U.S. You know, I never cease to be amazed at the stupidity of the GOP. They simply assume, even in today's hyper-partisan world, that Janet Napolitano might not find it convenient to name THEM as terrorist supporters one fine day. And, having their citizenship arbitrarily struck from them, what then would be their remedy? Submission to prison or death or a resort to arms. Doesn't the rule of law mean anything to these jokers? I guess not.

There is NO "Rule of Law", and there has not been for quite a few years. The stench is overwhelming.
Mark Matis s right, there is no rule of law anymore, what we experience today is rule of man.
And when it comes down to it, the court of 9 unelected and unaccountable robed kings wield that arbitrary sword on injustice.
"Our government... teaches the whole people by its example. If the government becomes the lawbreaker, it breeds contempt for law; it invites every man to become a law unto himself; it invites anarchy." -- Justice Louis D. Brandeis
"The greatest dangers to liberty lurk in the insidious encroachment by men of zeal, well meaning but without understanding." -- Justice Louis D. Brandeis
Now watch those stalwart "arch-conservatives" Lindsey Graham (amnesty) and John McCain (I'm sure Obama believes in the Constitution, we just have a sincere disagreement on policy...) reach across the isle and support this bill.
Then the story will read, "This initiative, which has broad bi-partisan support..."
I agree with Mark Matis, the stench is overwhelming.

You cannot even BEGIN to imagine how much contempt I have for the "Law", and for "Law Enforcement".
What role does the Oath of Allegiance play in the stripping of citizenship play? Is it okay for a person with allegiance to a foreign nation or group (such as al Qaida) to falsely swear the Oath and then enjoy the protection of American citizenship?
The law permits the removal of citizenship from naturalized "citizens" who are demonstratively treasonous. That's an example of the "rule of law" that is intended to protect us all.
A nation can not involuntarily "strip" a natural born citizen of his nationality, without killing him. I would remain "an American" while on the run or fighting against my government or in the service of a foreign military/Private military company. I may well be violating the "law" of the United States Congress, but even they can't change what is a fact of birth and association.
The only legitimate way to get free of being "a United States subject" is to go to your local Consular office to renounce your Citizenship and revoke your passport. You should have enough money to never work again before becoming "Stateless". Congratulations, the IRS is now investigating you, and your children, worldwide.
Congresscritters who consider this kind of junk legislation ought to find themselves unemployed come January after their next election.
The stench is not just from #Occupiers.
Cheers.

In that case, it should be EASY to get the current _resident out of The White House, huh?
For Anonymous at 9:30 AM:
At what point in his life does a native US citizen who is NOT a government employee (civilian or military) swear that oath? And just how many "Law Enforcement" officers, who DO swear that oath, would remain citizens if that was enforced against native citizens who took that oath but acted treasonously?
So much for "Rule of Law"...
