They're not going to be able to build them fast enough.

I'm drooling on my KB...

I tried to post this in response to your Mossy500 post but couldn't get comment to work on my android browser...

Sent a link of that to my wife this morning. I think we just figured out what we're going to spend a part of our income tax refund on. Two please.

I wonder if they bought the plans to the Neostead. Looks quite a lot like it.

Looks to be extremely loud due to proximity of muzzle to your head, but gotta admit, inside a vehicle or building, that short size is handy! 14 shots you say :^)

I'm betting congress will quickly deem this a weapon nobody should own, but order a few for their security details, for just in case.

DAMN!!! But that is a SEXY beast!! FOURTEEN ROUNDS without reloading! Maybe THAT ought to be what you give your son, Mike. For his "work" it looks to be damn near perfect.

Excerpt from the announcement at the Kel-Tec site:

The KSG is our first entry into the shotgun market. The size, shape and design are similar to the currently available Kel-Tec RFB rifle, but the KSG ejects downward, instead of forward. The KSG weighs 6.9lbs and is as compact as legally possible with a 26.1" overall length and an 18.5" cylinder bore barrel. Even with this compact size, the internal dual tube magazines hold an impressive 14 rounds of 12 gage 2-3/4" rounds (7 per tube). The simple and reliable pump action feeds from either the left or right tube. The feed side is manually selected by a lever located behind the trigger guard. The lever can be positioned in the center detent in order to easily clear the chamber without feeding another round from either magazine. A cross bolt style safety blocks the sear, and the pump release lever is located in front of the trigger guard.

The pump includes an under Picatinny rail for the mounting of a forward grip, or a light or laser. The included top Picatinny sight rail will accept many types of optics or iron sights. Forward and rear sling loops are built in, and a basic sling is included. The soft rubber butt pad helps to tame recoil.

MSRP has not been officially been set, but we are looking at the $800.00 range.

Hellova deal for 8 bills. I agree with DD. They are definitely not gonna be able to build 'em fast enough.

Now if they just had a semi-auto version . . .

Oh, and Mike, is 2.75" long enough to accept flechette rounds?

I still prefer my Saiga S-12. It is very quick to load another magazine, much like the AK-47, and it is semi-auto. With an eight round magazine, my initial setup is nine rounds. From there, I have additional five round magazines. Since I am not carrying all of my ammo in the gun itself, it is not as heavy as with fourteen rounds inside. But, that's just me.

It's a fast dog, that doesn't stop barking, until everyone is bitten.

Oh ya, I'll have two please also.

I want one in 20 gauge. Guess that means I'll have to wait a lot longer than the rest of you! LOL Not to mention it's going to take me a while to save up for it. :)

My Mossberg 500 20 Gauge will just have to do me until then.

We have back orders from Kel-Tec going back 5 years still not shipped!
About 20% of what we do get has to go straight back to the factory for repairs.
Do not get me started on Mags.
I hope we see it but I would ready to wait.
I like my Kel-Tec but.

good thing that that Arizona kid didn't have one of them...

Right now I will stick with my coach gun and the Saiga 12. One is the most reliable of CQC weapons the other reliably unleashes hell.
I just cannot get myself excited about Kel-Tec given their past record though I do have one of their 40cal Sub2K folders for the bugout bag.

Dude this is freaking awesome!

That S-12 looks pretty sweet!
I'm sure it's illegal here in the People's Repulik of Kaliforniastan, though.

If you buy a PLR-16 Keltec instead, you can shoot things further away than you can throw a softball with probably more terminal energy and use 5 to 52 round magazines (or a drum if you feel like it to go past that, though they aren't really practical) that you can swap.

Shotguns are for birds, bean bags, door breaching, and sucky deer hunting regs in some states I don't live in. .223/5.56 won't go anymore through walls than buck or slugs (actually safer in a urban environment than buck and slugs) and you can hit things past 15 yards. Birdshot for home defense has a really poor wound ballistics history against goblins.

I'm entitled to my bigotry, and being as I own some Keltec things, it's not anything against the company.

Rifle, SBRs, and Rifle Caliber pistols are the Kings and Queens. Shotguns are special purpose if you aren't shooting clays or bird hunting. Cylinder bore opens up REALLY fast yet the .33 caliber balls will go through drywall into the crib in the next apartment a lot more often than .223SP. That's why entry teams have changed weaponry. Buckshot isn't worth a fook against a vest either, and slugs are questionable on vests.

Love me or hate me, I'll call it as I see it.

I don't hate shotguns, mine just are suited to task, killing flying things.

There's a reason why shotguns are preferred home defense weapons to people that have never shot at anybody, marketing. There's a reason why they aren't much used for other than breaching and bean bags on entry teams and in military usage, as that's mostly what they are good for.

Of course, a million and one soldiers and tactical teams and trainers could be wrong and they might be the bee's knees. Put a red dot sight on one while you're at it...

Rifles beat shotguns just like they beat pistols just like rock beats scissors.

Yes, it is purdy. Yes, it is slick. But I think of how much ammo one could buy with the cash leftover from a Mossberg, even with the bells and whistles... and again, I'm with Mama L. in that I lean heavily toward the 20 gauge. Some health issues make heavy recoil a bit more of a concern these days, but frankly, at the distance for which I would use the shotgun, I don't think that there would be an appreciable difference in the end result between a 12 and a 20.

I wonder if it'll feed the Aquilla mini-shells?

Nice toy but I'll stick with my Saiga 12 with a 20 round drum and soon a second 20 round drum when the one I just ordered shows up.

Meh...

Wake me up when they start production, IF they start production.

Kel-Tec has a history of "concept" guns that never make it past the prototype stage.

Wonderful concept and very innovative and what a great idea having two separate and selectable magazines. I must have one.

I'd like this one better if it were semi-auto.

At first I thought, "holy s*%$" I want one of those; and then, after pondering a bit further, I decided I'd stick with my Saiga 12 ga. One 5 rd box magazine and 4 more 10 rd mags will do everything that KelTec will do. I wanted the stock a little shorter as soon as it arrived, so removed the straight stock and replaced with the M4 style collapsible stock with pistol grip. Now, my Saiga looks like an AK-47 on steroids, and brother does it shoot nice. Recoil is a bit stiff at the range, but when you're shooting for real, you don't feel it at all. You know what I mean by "for real," right? That's when some armed IRS a**wipe is trying to gain entry into your house with a battering ram.

I hear they do plan a semi-auto version; as this is their first shotgun design they decided to initially go with simplicity of a pump.

Sort of reminds me of the Winters (?) Swatriplex made in the early 90's. Never heard any more about it after the one article.
