Welcome to Eric Holder's boys and girls.

I am curious about one thing, though. How can a visit be "0 seconds"?

why does on time of visit indicate 10/2/10?

TT

0 seconds typically means that the visitor did not come and browse around, follow comments links, or follow any other links from the site to other sites.

The likely scenario is that something on the Visit Entry Page interested someone enough to forward a link to your visitor. The visitor then likely read what they wanted and left the site without clicking anything (which would give the server a second data point to calculate the time spent at a page).

TT, that's easy. Time travel. They have it. LOL

Hello boys!

I believe it is a lot longer than 0 seconds, though there may be a "bug" put in place to make it seem like they were only here for 0 seconds, like it was a passing thought. I guarantee that the DoJ people are watching this blog a lot more than occasionally.

Just my thoughts on it....

The Arlington address probably is one of the many secondary office buildings that most .gov agencies have due to the continuous growth of fed/gov employees.
When I worked for one of them we had seven different large complexes and that was not counting the main office in downtown DC.

Seems to me it's spying on an American citizen.

So much for your and our 4th Amendment rights ! The Constitution is dead.

I too have wondered about the zero second visit.

Maybe they're trying to win that prize you're holding in reserve for the 2,000,000th visitor.

Oooops?

I stopped believing in ooops, a long time ago. Especially when as TT pointed out, the date stamp has been modified.

Can't imagine their servers allowing an error like that. Therefore it must not be an error. No doubt someone sending their little message.

I remember when we mainly had Americans serving in federal law enforcement. Never would have happened under J. Edgar. God rest his patriotic soul. A lot has changed since he ran things. His personnel were red, white and blue Americans, mostly and American commies were scared to breathe wrong. Not anymore.

The 0 seconds is because the browser came to Sipsey Street, downloaded the one page, maybe read, something and closed the window.

The time discrepancy is odd

Time of Visit Oct 2 2010 6:49:54 am
Time Zone UTC-5:00
Visitor's Time Oct 1 2010 1:49:54 pm

What is your time zone in sitemeter set to? The database records tmestamps in UTC (Zulu to you militia types :-) and adjusts the display based on your TZ setting. Are you perchance set to +12?

is "0" the IQ of the visitor?

Blogs are meant to be read. Maybe Holder's boys and girls are understanding what our politicians don't -- that the statists have pushed folks pretty close to the limits. If this is so, then it is a good thing. Maybe in can be couched in language Obama's folks can understand. You Feds, tell Holder to real all of Mao, not just the parts Obama tells him to.

Hi mike,

I bet server filters bumped him as soon as he landed at Sypsey street

Googled UTC.
Current UTC (or GMT/Zulu)-time used: Saturday, October 2, 2010 at 00:56:58( --this was at 8:59 EST)
UTC is Coordinated Universal Time, GMT is Greenwich Mean Time.
Great Britain/United Kingdom is one hour ahead of UTC during summer.
Looks like the date stamp is correct-just part of the NWO

Oh, stop it. I'm as much in this as any of you, but are you seriously saying that federal law enforcement is "spying" if it browses a public web site? If someone said the site had child porn on it, would you not expect them to look and then dismiss the claim? Let's be generally distrustful of the government, but let's not be just plain dumb.

BTW, I believe a "ping" would register as zero seconds.

Anon @ 11:33 is correct. I've addressed this before on WoG. Per the Site Meter Knowledge Center:
Why do some of my visitors have visit lengths of 0:00?
Solution That means the visitors are only staying to view a single page and then leaving. The only way that Site Meter knows how long someone is on a site is by the times of each page view. If they only look at a single page and then leave, we don't know how long they looked at the page. If they looked at two pages and left we would know they at least were on the site during the time of the first page view and the second page view. The difference between those two times would be the length of the visit.

the code that your analytics program uses to monitor visits can sometimes be one of the last items to load, based upon where the code is inserted into the page. a 0-second visit therefore often signifies that someone hit a link or favorite to your site accidently, and when they saw it start to load, hit backspace almost immediately. that is the most likely scenario.

Aaaahhh, those were my "plain dumb" remarks you reflected on at October 1, 2010 1:51 PM.

It amazes me how you can berate my comments so easily. Then try to justify calling me "dumb" by stating "we" (meaning you, right ?)can be "generally" distrustful but let's (meaning ME)not be just plain dumb."

How utterly contradictory smart guy. Don't trust them "generally" (WTF does THAT mean?) but let's not be "plain dumb" ? Sounds like you express yourself out of both sides of your mouth.

I for one don't trust a single soul in the Justice Department, the NSA, the CIA and just about every other Federal agency. Look at Ruby Ridge, Waco, and the recent nose-thumbing by your Attorney General Holder as regards the dismissal of voter intimidation charges against the New Black Panthers in Philly.

How plain dumb of me to say that Justice was spying. Would the use of the word "monitoring" have been more politically correct for you ?

Your boys at Justice were "monitoring" this site (Does that make you feel better junior ?). Don't think for a moment they were just "dropping" by because they're bored. They know this isn't a porn site for them to kill time on.

Seems to me you just may be one of those good ol' boys on the Oath Keepers Board of Directors. You sound just like 'em.....talking outta both sides of your mouth.

"Trust Me". Of course those must be words you live by....generally speaking that is.

I'll just be "plain dumb" as I continue to distrust just about every government agency from the dog catcher to the Oval Office. You, anonymous @ October 1, 2010 6:38 PM, can continue to live in La-La Land !

Hard to call reading the contents of a public blog page 'spying'.

Might call it 'monitoring'.

Can't say as it's any worse than the guy reading editorials of a local paper while on the clock: either a guy wasting time when he should be working; screwing off and reading blogs... or it's an even worse waste; somebody has to sit and read this and compile any remarks into some tedious, soul-crushingly boring report.

Unfortunately, it's probably the latter. An utter waste of time and resources.

If I am correct; if someone at usdoj.gov is assigned the odious task of trying to sniff out some kind of plots or threats here... I feel sorry for ya'. 'Cause you're wasting your time with us 'right wing gun nuts'.

There are actual, real, present threats to the public well-being out there... people who are here illegally (some of whom are otherwise law-abiding - some decidedly not), terrorists, drug dealers, white slavers, sweat shops, thieves, muggers, rapists, murderers, and other sundry criminals.

You know WHY there are blogs like this? Because YOU guys in the government are wasting your time on stuff like this - basically looking to catch the kitten while the cat gets away. And we're here venting our frustration that our countrymen have elected fools such as yourselves; gathering together electronically for the purpose of rolling our eyes and slapping our foreheads in derision.

But just keep on reading; perhaps at least someone at usdoj.gov will read one entry too many, and 'think outside the box'.
