War against Isis: US strategy in tatters as militants march on

Good description of what is, and isn't, happening on the ground. As the valiant Kurds fight on, they're being sold out by everyone who claims to be on their side, including us.

Aside from licit reservations about US involvement in every single battle in every single flea-bitten Dogpatch in the world....

The Kurds in that town are allies of the Russians and their 'militia' has been a Russian front (communist) bunch since long before Putin.

The Kurdish ethnic group was split up and resides in FOUR middle-eastern countries. That split happened after WWI. To one extent or another, the Kurds have been fighting for their own country/homeland ever since.

Casualties of Big "Diplomacy" number in the 100s of millions, and FDR's deliberate ignoring of the Nazi death camps is only one example. Nixon consigned 10s of 1000s to death in VietNam when we pulled out.

It's awful, of course. But the National Interest is not at play with the Kurdish question.

The best strategy would be to drive oil down to $4 a barrel; simultaneously defunding the militants and restroing the US economy!
