John Solomon rips the "Mr. Friendly" mask off B. Todd Jones.

"No more Mister Nice Guy."
"ATF chief warns of 'consequences' to outside whistleblowing."
The federal prosecutor brought in to reform the embattled Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives in the aftermath of the Fast and Furious gun scandal distributed a videotaped message to employees this month warning there would be “consequences” for reporting wrongdoing outside their chain of command.
The video, obtained by the Washington Guardian, immediately raised alarm among agents in the field, members of Congress and whistleblower advocates
“Choices and consequences means simply that if you make poor choices, that if you don’t abide by the rules, that if you don’t respect the chain of command, if you don’t find the appropriate way to raise your concerns to your leadership, there will be consequences,” Acting Director B. Todd Jones told the employees in a video distributed July 9 by email and closed-circuit TV and obtained by the Washington Guardian.
The 3 minute, 22 second videotape was the last of eight “Changecasts” that Jones distributed to ATF employees in recent weeks to describe how he planned to run the agency, improve morale and instill a new culture in the aftermath of one of the agency's worst scandals.
ATF officials in Washington and rank-and-file agents told the Washington Guardian that the tape was interpreted by many as a warning not to pursue the path of the Arizona agents who went outside the agency in 2011 and reported concerns to Congress about the bungled Fast and Furious gun probe that let semiautomatic weapons flow to Mexican drug gangs.
Darrell Issa and Charles Grassley are not amused.
Grassley and Issa wrote to Jones, “Your ominous message – which could be interpreted as a threat – is likely to have a major chilling effect on ATF employees exercising their rights to contact Congress. Therefore, it needs to be clarified.”
Their letter here.

This is a very courageous act especially now that it is really difficult to prove another person's guilt.

On June 17, 1831 railroad engineer Nicholas Darrell returned to his locomotive The Best Friend of Charleston after having inspected the train's lumber cars.

In his absense, he assigned his Negro fireman the task of turning the engine around for the return trip. The fireman, having finished his task, was sitting down waiting for Darrell to return. It was a fatal mistake.

"Suddenly, the upright cylinder of iron that held the boiling water exploded at the bottom. The iron boiler was thrown some 25ft. from the platform. Boiling water was also thrown. Darrell wrote about the accident later. 'When I ran The Best Friend, I had a Negro fireman to fire, clean, and grease the machine. This Negro annoyed at the noise occasioned by the blowing off the steam, FASTENED THE VALVE LEVER DOWN AND SAT UPON IT which caused the explosion, deadly injuring him, from the effects of which he died afterward and scalding me.'"

Now it seems to me that anyone would have sense enough to LET WHISTLES BLOW so that built-up pressure may safely vent. The piercing shrieks may disturb your dogmatic slumbers but it is preferable to having hot steel pushed up through your entrails.

Perhaps there is a lesson here for those whose job it is to make the trains run on time. :^)

Time for him to go too

"Consequences". What, is the ATF going to torch the houses of the whistleblowers and burn them alive with their families inside, just like they did in Waco? Just sayin'.

John Solomon 'the czar' is simply following the orders his master...
master dictaor Barack Husein Obama.

Why the American people have allowed this regime to remain in power for this long is no longer a mystery. Americans have lost their will to fight...and this is exemplified by who we send to Congress...not a man amongst men in the bunch.
And look at the rest of us...we read all about this wrong doing and that's just about it... we read about it and do nothing...
Unless 'action' is taken by the American people before November nothing will change after November. Wake up America!

What possible clarification could be needed. The director ATF and therefore the DOJ and Attorney General, and therefore the President of the United States, just told the elected representatives of the people and therefore the people of the United States, that they are going to do whatever they want, Constitution and bill of rights be damned.

Not the first time it's happened with this administration nor is it the last time.

The Marxist media will of course applaud and ignore because they are getting their way. They are in charge of the country and the king makers now. Everyone else who doesn't agree with them can shut up, better shut up, if they know what's good for them. There's a new sheriff in town and he's wearing a red star and holding a sickle.

Semi-related: Katie Pavlich at Town Hall reports that Terry's killers were originally released; and Stranger of Extrano's Alley sums it up thus:
"...the simplest explanation is that the ATF or the Department of Justice was in collusion with the killers."

Basically, the acting director of the ATF just said "Snitches get Stitches"?

How very professional of him, and obviously keeping to the high political standards established by this idiotic administration.

Not the wisdom of Soloman. What I just read is an unlawful order. As it was recorded, charges should be pending. The Constitution or treason, his choice TREASON.

When the chain of command itself, going all the way to the top, is what the whistleblowers are complaining about, there is no choice but to go "outside" that chain - to someone who will hopefully be effective at stopping the behavior.

There is only one name this administration should bear in mind when planning actions against Americans: Ceaucescu.

Well the fine second hand clothiers in Washington District of Corruption ought to dig deep in the back of their closets bring forward the SS and Gestapo uniforms, polish the tin and brass and refirb the leather belts 'cause these uniforms are needed in Department of Justice and BATFE high offices on the double! Hop to!

I say again to ATF employees, grow a set of nuts an honor your oath!

You are surprised that the hierarchy of your unconstitutional agency is full of gangsters and crooks? You are just figuring that out? Guess what? The rest of us already knew!

Semi related - release of Terry's killers sounds like what went on in Boston when Whitey Bulger was operating as a CI. You would think the Feds would learn. I recall that they were in custody but now the DOJ wants to pay $1,000,000 for info leading to their capture. What a way to run a government that is broke.

Maddawg308,

Funny you should y that....

Are you familiar with Jay Dobyns' experience dealing with his own agency?

Dobyns life was threatened, and ATF bosses refused him a protection team. Hell's Angels burned down his house with his family inside. They escaped, but his ATF bosses not only wouldn't then provide him protection, they wouldn't even investiagate.

To add insult to injury, they charged him with the arson!

..and another administration pimp puts his whores back in line..

I find it difficult to feel sympathetic for those who work for people actively engaged in violating our rights and have made no effort to stop or subvert such transgressions until it became dangerous for themselves. Up until that point they were kicking in doors with the rest.
Holder is a traitor as much as those working for him in support of his illegal agenda at any level.. including this mutt and those he is spanking.

I mean honestly.. I might change my mind when they begin to honor their oath and resist their illegitimate treasonous leadership.
Until then..

I despise Barak Hussein Obama and his collection of Chicago thugs as much as anyone reading this site. But BATFE is not his baby. Nor is he the only one responsible for the cesspool of corruption that exists within that bureau.

In truth, ATF was a rogue organization way before "Fast and Furious", way before "Wide Receiver", and even way before Waco. It has been a rogue organization and stain on America at least as far back as 1971 when agents of ATFD (as it was then known) participated in the murder of Kenyon F. Ballew.

There is no possibility of anyone with any personal integrity knowing about the history of what we now know as ATF and still choosing to put on an ATF badge when they report to work.
