Recently learned of a trick to hide stuff where it can be readily located. An average grave is a hole 6 feet deep with a vault a little more than 2 feet high. This leaves 4 feet for dirt. Find a fresh grave (prefer one with a double his/hers headstone with the most recent burial being the remaining spouse. This means that it is not likely that another grave will be placed right next to the most recent burial.
Spread out a tarp and dig thru the fresh dirt all the way to the vault, place your sealed stash in the hole and fill it back up with the dirt from the tarp so it does not look tampered with. Make sure you remember the names on the headstone so you can find it again when the time comes. Anyone coming along with a metal detector will get a hit from the steel casket. Hope this idea helps.

Mike, Mosby's plan is based on big army, 10 trillion dollar a year, air trnsport 20 years in sf plan. The reality is that a 10 man unit in combat, needs TONs of "beans and bullets" to survive even a short time. Ammunition useage; on its own will be huge.A 10 man team trying to brake contact ,can burn thru 300rounds each man, in less than 5min. then you'r SOL. The other name for a cash sight is an ambush, also known as a killing zone. Try this , fill your fav- or- right rucksack with Mosbys equpment list, grab your rifle and ammo- 300rd min. now get an army litter, put 200lb of sand bags on it. Now hump 10k to your "cash sight". Find an ambush there. run like hell away, WITH the 200lb "wounded" guy on the litter. Go to your next cash sight, it been pilferd.Nothing there. Can ya'll do this for 2 days? How about 2 weeks? How about THE REST OF YOUR LIFE. People gurrilla warfare is 1 millon guys hunting 1 guy like a deer; and killing him. It is hardship, suffering and death. SAYING anything else is romantic bullshit. If you want to win (and I do) DITCH ALL of that high speed battery powerd crap. Learn to live like "johnny reb" did. Do more with less. Carry ONLY what's keeping you alive. Treat every thing you have as the last one you'll ever get, depend on nothing, If we all do this we have a chance at victory. Above all, big army depends on resupply at will. Cashing CANNOT give you that. Cashing can only provide a very temporary "fix" IT IS NT A LOGISTICs base ( yes my spelling sucks, I can't type neather)-- Ray

Interesting comments .... anyone ever try and dig in the dirt in January? Frozen dirt is so hard up here in Dakota territory that they have to unthaw the ground with propane burners designed for that purpose so they can dig a grave with a backhoe. Might want to keep things like that in mind. Tubes buried vertically inside a second (larger) tube not only gives more protection it allows retrieval much easier, and faster. Don't forget a standoff device at the bottom in case the internal tube is frozen to the bottom and wrap a good rope or wire to pull it out.

For those interested in learning sophistocated caching techniques please read this PDF . It is free for download. You can find it here:

Anon 0300: Uhmn, actually, no, the concepts I put forth in the article are as far from based on Big Green's plans as you can get. I never served a day one in any non-SOF unit....If you think you're going to "live off the land" solely, while running and gunning, you're so far beyond delusional, you're as good as dead already. The point of caches is NOT to be your SOLE logistics source. It's to provide en route re-supply to maneuver elements so they're not packing that shit around in the pick-up with them, not hiding it in their basement, and in the event of a sudden need to leave home in the middle of the night, a hop, skip, and jump ahead of the enemy, they provide you the resources to stay alive that much longer. But hey, at least you're thinking....
