Pressure increases on the Calderon government over the Gunwalker plot.

For Mexicans, Fast and Furious conflict confirms U.S. role in Mexico's violence

Salazar said Mexicans see a double standard in Fast and Furious, in which U.S. agents allowed weapons to "walk" across the border in their quest to take down a major weapons trafficking ring even as it became apparent the guns were turning up at crimes.

"Would the United States have done this type of operation, for example, in Afghanistan knowing that there was a likelihood those guns would kill American soldiers? They would've never done it," she said.

Aguayo went further, saying the operation revealed "underlying racism."

"U.S. society and the U.S. government don't care about Mexican lives," he said. "I have studied U.S. foreign policy. One American life is worth more than 50,000 Mexican lives. This case is another ingredient in a cultural attitude of contempt toward Mexicans."

Just remember that the contempt and the racism came from the bureaucracy of the Obama administration -- at the highest levels.

Ahh, but a conspiracy against the Second Amendment to the Constitution; that is something that needed to be done "by any means necessary."
By. Any. Means. Necessary.
(Oh, and blame republicans so the NYT and Journolisters have targets to attack)

Mike, if you haven't already, check out Ann Barnhardt's commentary on "Mexico, Guns, Drugs, and Borders."

Interesting points on possible motivation for arming the zetas.

The Mexican government doesn't give a damn about Mexican lives either, Sergy. Why do you think all your countrymen are fleeing North?

If the Mexican government cared as much as you claim, they would encourage their citizens to arm themselves against the drug cartels.

But don't feel too bad about your government's betrayal. The US government doesn't give a damn about its own citizens, either. ;^)

The thing is, these guns really didn't have anything to do with the violence. Those deaths would have likely been committed anyhow, using whatever tools were available.

If the Mexican government gave a damn about it's citizens,it would clean up the graft, lower taxes and encourage businesses & investments to provide livable wages for Mexican citizens so they wouldn't have to "go north" to feed their families.

Re: the Ann Barnhardt thesis, it is also possible that the PTB envision a North American Union as the desired outcome of a Zeta cartel victory.

That is still tinfoil hat territory, though. Even if it can be proved that Gunwalker was designed to overthrow the government of Mexico, Obama's impeachment would make a Soros-inspired plot moot.

For MALTHUS:
Impeachment in and of itself means NOTHING. "Slick" showed that. Or do you REALLY expect 67 Senators to vote for removal?

Personally, I would not count on more than 30 doing so, no matter how vile the crime or how convincing the evidence.

In a similar "tinfoil hat" vein....

You're perhaps assuming Obama is the only iron Soros has in the fire. Never a good idea to assume anything where Soros is concerned. Obama could have been nothing more than an elaborate head fake. When you have more money than God, things become possible that mere mortals would never imagine.

Don't know if this has anything to do with the Gunwalking, but something is going on in Mexico..
