David Codrea: NRA call for Holder to be fired a waste of political capital. Taking the Weinermobile off-road into the "political wilderness."

Is the NRA Weinermobile actually an off-road vehicle designed for the political wilderness?

And would Wayne LaPierre actually recognize a political wilderness if he ever saw one?

In fairness, you should read the case LaPierre makes. I did, and frankly, it does not bring me any closer to his position. In fact, reading skillfully crafted marketing claims like “When NRA first began our campaign to fire Eric Holder we were one of just a few voices in the wilderness” makes my jaw drop at the sheer, amazing chutzpah of it. I guess, yeah, this campaign is their baby, but somehow, LaPierre in camel hair rags eating locusts and honey, was not the first thought in my mind back when there really were voices in the wilderness, who knew they were on to something huge and dangerous. . .

Wayne the Baptist, in the political wilderness, stops for a nice picnic lunch of locusts and honey.

Point of clarification: John the Baptist did not subsist on bugs (E-w-w-!). "Locust" is the carob tree's fruit--sometime called "St John's Bread".

"Non-fleshy and bean-like, the carob would not be generally regarded as a fruit, in the food-use sense, except for its sweetness. To many people it is familiar only by name as 'St. John's Bread', in allusion to the 'locusts' which, according to the Bible, sustained St. John the Baptist in the desert, and the 'husks' which tempted the hungry Prodigal Son, though 'no man gave unto him.' The word 'locust' was originally applied to the carob tree; later to migratory and other grasshoppers; and the name is attached to a number of other leguminous trees with pinnate leaves and oblong pods (Gleditsia, Hymenaea, Parkia, Robinia).

Hey Mike, what exactly have you personally done to help preserve and protect our 2nd Amendment rights?
* PS - Yapping to militia groups about 1776 or threatening to shoot government officials, "blue-hats", etc. doesn't count.
