Another country heard from: More death threats from the collectivist left.

Jeffrey Wells. He wants us all to be put in "green re-education camps."

The Blaze reports that Militant Environmentalists Call for Executions and ‘Decisive Ecological Warfare.’

One of the activists, Derrick Jensen, allegedly even believes those who destroy the environment should be summarily executed: “If it were up to me, all the people associated with the Gulf oil spill, which is murdering the Gulf, would be executed. That would be part of the function of a state,” said Jensen.

In addition to Jensen, the two other environmentalists interviewed in the article – Lierre Keith, and Aric McBay — have spearheaded a fringe movement called the “Deep Green Resistance” (with a book of the same name) that calls for “direct attacks on infrastructure” and an annihilation of civilization as we know it.

According to the far-left triumvirate, humanity must devolve into living primitive, “indigenous” lifestyles. To this end, Keith targeted a litany of ills that must be stopped, declaring: “We need a culture that is self-consciously oppositional to things like corporate power, capitalism, industrialization and ultimately civilization, because that is the arrangement of power on this planet right now.”

Yes, well, just bless his little murderous heart. Good luck with that. That lends a whole new meaning to the phrase popular among ranchers plagued by the wolf laws: "Shoot. Shovel. And shut up."

Jeffrey Wells is not quite so insistently bloody, although he wants London-style riots in the United States and wants to begin "rounding up Tea Bagger types and sentencing them to green re-education camps for minimum one-year terms."

And who is Jeffrey Wells? From his bio:

Jeffrey Wells is the publisher/editor of Hollywood Elsewhere, an opinion-attitude site with reporting thrown in from time to time. HE is an outgrowth of a twice-weekly Hollywood column Wells has been writing online since October 1998. Th earliest incarnation was on the ABC News-owned Mr. Showbiz, then moved to Reel.com in August 1999 until August 2002, then shifted again to Kevin Smith's Movie Poop Shoot.com until launching Hollywood Elsewhere in August 2004. He wrote a weekly Hollywood column for the L.A. Times Syndicate from 1994 to 1999. Wells was regular contributor to Entertainment Weekly from 1991 to 1996, and People magazine from 1996 to 1998. He has also freelanced for the N.Y. Daily News, Rolling Stone, Men's Journal, the N.Y. Times and the Washington Post.

What else do we know about Wells? Well, he identifies with the film Brokeback Mountain, and considers Che Guevara to be Lawrence of Latin America.

Here is his self-described "delicious fantasy":

Many times I've riffed on a dark, delicious fantasy about rounding up Tea Bagger types and sentencing them to green re-education camps for minimum one-year terms. Not to punish per se but to expose these contemptible morons to facts, to truth, to the way things really are and how they're being played by the rich, and the fact that Boomers have taken almost everything and that diminished lifestyles and economic security are being bequeathed to Genx and GenY for decades to come, and that the best is definitely over. The infra-structure that once provided decent, fair-minded quality of life to middle-class people in this country is disintegrating. The game is rigged. This is the fall of the Roman Empire.

All largely because of impediments to logical, intelligent governing put up by the knee-jerk, mule-like, corporate-kowtowing mentality of Tea-Bagger types and their 60 or so looney-tunes Congresspersons now in office. We've truly become a South American society of rightist oligarchs, angry lefties, disillusioned wage-earners, retirement-age fuddies and struggling, debt-smothered have-nots, and the rightist boobs will never understand that they're primarily the problem. The deficit-reduction deal will almost certainly hurt growth and kill jobs, most analysts are saying. And the radical right will own this when it happens. This level of ideological denial is no longer appalling -- it's become lethal. Ignoramuses can no longer be tolerated. The right is killing this country, things have gotten really crazy, and Obama will never stand up to them.

A second Civil War would be an incredibly destructive thing, but it would feel so good.

Blithely dreaming of putting people in camps for their political opinions and stating that civil war would "feel so good" are statements of someone who has never been shot at, someone who has lived a completely sheltered, self-absorbed and smug existence safe from challenges of any sort. This is so divorced from reality, I wonder if he has ever read even one book of history.

A dozen years ago, I wrote "What I Have Learned From the Twentieth Century." In it I noted 6 lessons I had learned from the collectivist dictators of the 20th Century.

LESSON NO. 1: If a bureaucrat, or a soldier sent by a bureaucrat, comes to knock down your door and take you someplace you do not want to go because of who you are or what you think -- kill him. If you can, kill the politician who sent him. You will likely die anyway, and you will be saving someone else the same fate. For it is a universal truth that the intended victims always far outnumber the tyrant's executioners. Any nation which practices this lesson will quickly run out of executioners and tyrants, or they will run out of it.

"If you can, kill the politician who sent him." That also applies, under Bill Clinton's Serbian Rules of Engagement, to the intellectuals who justify it.

On those twin premises, if Mr. Wells gets what he wishes for, he will be a dead man.

He probably hasn't worked all that out yet, but if someone tries to start up political re-education camps in this country, it will be explained to him, no doubt rather abruptly.

To paraphrase the Sipsey Street sidebar icon, when democracy turns to tyranny . . .

. . . Men and women with rifles still get to vote.

You remember the 10:10 No Pressure video from last fall, right?

It was quickly apologized for ("my baaad"), but the reality is that it reflects the true feelings and desires of environmentalists.

Wells thinks a civil war would "feel so good." Send the jerk to England, he may get his wish. When he states the above, he really means it would feel good to put a bullet into his opponent. Wishes work both ways.

While I agree with Derrick Jensen that executions are "part of the function of a state" he neglects to mention the remaining functions, to wit: establishing justice, ensuring domestic tranquility, providing for the common defence and general welfare and securing the blessings of liberty to the people and their posterity.

I see no provision in the US Constitution allowing for the punishment of those who offend the peace and dignity of Gaia or any other pagan deity.

Punishment for blasphemy is for canonical courts alone to decide. :^)

Derrick Jensen should procede with caution here because executions operate both ways and canonical courts have been known to sanction nature worshippers.

... but patriots like us are the real domestic threats in this country!

Wolves in sheep's clothing, all of 'em!

It still amuses me that the left have all turned to homophobes -
you know that the term 'teabagging' refers to a specific homoerotic practice which is restricted to the gay community;

yet when the communist leftists want to cast a slur at the Tea Party, they refer to them by the homophobic term 'teabaggers' - and they don't even see the twisted irony. Next, will they call us all 'coons', or 'spics', or maybe 'wops' and 'micks'?
The left is the living embodiment of hatred.

And following the lead of the black congressional districts in Harris County, Texas, I will get to vote many, many times.

Lierre Keith? She got a cayenne cream pie in the eye for discovering and announcing that if she didn't eat meat, she was going to die. Her book on that was more sane than not, but clearly she's had a relapse since then.

Jeffy needs to be real careful what he wishes for. He might get what he wants, except the tables will be turned 180 degrees from his expectations. in fact, he is openly threatening people with kidnapping or even death. Clearly illegal.

Many folks, I suspect, will have no compunction in defending themselves and their families from loons such as Jeffy attempting to impose their lunacy on others.

Maybe the folks that think that they should return to cave man living should start by setting the example and doing it themselves? I have yet to see any of the greenies chuck their cars, electricity or any other modern convenience. They are simply Marxists/tyrannists of another color...

I'm just gonna leave my opinion about this lefty and the left in general out of this comments and simply state that....
The left has convinced me to go 'green'.....No reeducation camp needed. Yup after this last Batch of 168SMK's gets loaded up, I'm gonna try out those new Nosler all copper fragmenting core .308 bullets. Hopefully my steel plates will take less damage and last longer.....

So, how many times have you been shot at Mike?

Give them credit for their honesty. At least they are open about their desire to exterminate the productive members of our society, on their long march towards despotism.

The flaw in their plan is that they think they will be among the remaining ruling class. It is too bad that they have forgotten the lessons of Marxist-Leninist history. They would understand their position as 'useful idiots' much better if they had paid attention in class...

"Jeffrey" is his name? Looks like a sex-change operation happened there.

"Jeffery" obviously isn't up on what's happening to states everywhere as a result of 4GW/Open Source, so he harbors the fantasy that some greenie-socialist state might actually be able to do what Lenin did. Lefties never learn.

"Structure Hit" straight from Bruce Sterling "Heavy Weather" No-Longer-SpecFic novel. All that remains is to genetically engineer goats that give milk that makes C-4 cheese.

How many of us are ready to get on rooftops with the Korean grocers? If you don't have a rifle, how about binoculars? Cheap NV (can't expect GenIII $3K in civilian hands much!)? Range cards? A bucket of field dressings and supplies?

I met a disabled/retired Navy Medic (Corpsman?) this morning, 20 years in, touched/manic and a little broken, but I betcha he can still stop bleeding and keep a fellow alive until morning. Training and experience overcomes fear/reluctance/politics.

Five, if you only count the times that someone wanted to kill me and had the skill to do it. I'm a Veteran of Domestic Wars, and I don't mean my first marriage.

There are more of us than there are of them.
There are more of us than there are of them.

If we ever get that universal truth settled in our minds, the scene will be similar to the Battle at Kruger.
Then the bastards will run with their tails tucked between their legs like the dogs they are.

Who among you cares to die cowering in the corner. If you're gonna die anyway, take one of the bastards out as you go. It may inspire others to join the battle.

It finally comes to light. The touchy feely socialist collectivist murderous bastards who would have the government disarm us have finally admitted that they just don’t want to be shot by the first person they try to execute or herd into a concentration camp. And, the stupid sons of whores actually put it in writing.

You asked a question, I gave you an honest answer. Actually had to think about it for a minute. Most occurred during our "cold war" with the Neos during 1996-1998 and most occurred because we were somewhere someone didn't want us to be.

I will say this, the Arkansas Klan can shoot better than any Neo-Nazi or Identity puke I've ever run into. In my limited experience, of course.

I think Derrick Jensen sees it that if we go on the way we are now none of us have a chance but if we change our intrastructure radically the human race might have a chance...and maybe will do a better job because of it. And maybe they will still have some natural resources to work with.

Deep Green Resistance said...

98% of the old growth forests are gone. 99% of of the prairies are gone. 80% of the rivers on this planet do not support life anymore. We are out of species, we are out soil, and we are out of time. And what we are being told by most of the environmental movement is that the way to stop all of this is through personal consumer choices. It's time for a real strategy that can win.

And the point is not to cause human casualties. The point is to stop the destruction of the planet. The enemy is not the civilian population or any population at all but a sociopathological sociopolitical-economic system. Ecological destruction on this planet is primarily caused by industry and capitalism; the issue of population is tertiary at best. The point of collapsing industrial infrastructure is not to harm humans. The point is the reduce the damage as quickly as possible, and in doing so to account for the harm the dominant culture is doing to all living creatures, past and future.

And Ill say that rational people go quietly, meekly to the end of the world if only you’ll allow them to believe that buying energy saving bulbs is gonna save the day". - Derrick Jensen
