Great song. I bet Janeane Garofalo has forgotten more about "teabagging" (slang for a humiliating sexual assault on a sleeping person) and "salad-tossing" and ... (gag)... than we care to know. Well, we'll accord her all the respect a second-string co-star of "Mystery Men" deserves. I love that line. Someone used it on Alec Baldwin, star of "Beetlejuice."
That too was one of my issues with this video. They made it sound like that sentence from the Declaration ended with "alter it", as if to say it's all about the political process. More specifically, it's all about returning the GOP to power.
Yeah, we've seen what kind of "alterations" the GOP has made to American government. It destroed constitutional government in the middle of the 19th century and has proceeded to maintain the centralist status quo ever since.
Sure, the Tea Party Movement is somehow making its way toward the truth, like a drunk bouncing off the walls as he staggers toward the light at the end of the hall. But I'm afraid that in the end the Tea Party Movement is just rehashed "Reagan Republicanism" and will at the end of the day, "find no root in itself", like the seed sown among rocks in the Parable of the Sower. (Sorry for the mixed metaphors.)
The video is great as far as it goes. It's an expression of the popular anger that will translate into a first class ass kicking of the Dems this Nov., and that's good. The question is, will it really change anything?

Not bad at all.
