My Next Paper Target at the Range: "We're All Socialists Now."

This is the logo on the current Newsweek cover. The title? "We're ALL Socialists Now."

This is the story that accompanies it.

I think I'm going to make this my next target at the range. Thus will I refute their premise.

The Flag of INGSOC, the totalitarian party in 1984.

Well, when it comes to the mainstream so-called left and right, they have a point:

"it was, again, under a conservative GOP administration that we enacted the largest expansion of the welfare state in 30 years: prescription drugs for the elderly. People on the right and the left want government to invest in alternative energies in order to break our addiction to foreign oil. And it is unlikely that even the reddest of states will decline federal money for infrastructural improvements."

Yep, sad but true. Only a financial collapse will break those chains of bipartisanship voluntary serfdom.

Is it me, or is that logo FRIGHTENINGLY SIMILAR to the INGSOC logo in "1984" the movie?

You're quite right, QJG, although it didn't hit me until you mentioned it. I went ahead and posted it at the bottom.

with the collapse of the state comes the collapse of its mark-of-the-beast paper bill of credit, the federal reserve note -- hilariously referred to as a "dollar," a phonetic slip from the original joachimsthaler ("yawk-hymns-thaw-lur"), a true blue coin.

be prepared.

"We're All Socialists Now" - I think I'm going to f*&^(ng PUKE!

These SOB's can't help but GLOAT in what they have wrought! God help them as they bring about the unintended consequences of their actions.

As the increasingly louder pleas of "LEAVE US THE HELL ALONE!!" fall upon deaf ears, the vortex continues to move...ever faster...the country is past the outer edges and is being sucked even more quickly into the abyss.

One only needs to review the highlights of last nights, "Presidential News Conference" and the details of the move to print yet ANOTHER trillion worthless FRN's in order to nationalize even more of the economy and then look at the runnning total:

The TARP initiative will reach 2 TRILLION "dollars"; the nationalization and control of industry; the abrogation of more of the BOR, and so on, is speeding things up.

Futile gestures, such as the "Million Gun Owner March" set for Spring 2010, won't do much, if anything to reverse the country's course or keep "the line in the sand" where it currently resides...

Better to spend what funds are available on ammo, equipment, and training.

At least, that's my take.

Re: Mike

I saw the same Newsweek cover when I was at the doctor's office. 1984 was the first thing that came onto my mind.

When I first saw the film, I thought THAT was more scarier than all the Jason, Freddy, etc... films out there. Because THAT shit CAN happen in real life
