IL Governor Quinn rewrites concealed carry bill into 'gun control' monstrosity

If the override votes in both chambers come anywhere close to the numbers of the overwhelming bipartisan majority that passed H.R. 183, the veto will be overridden easily, which seems to be what most observers are expecting. Failing that, the bill needs to be killed outright, allowing unregulated carry. The worst possible outcome of all would be simple majority acceptance of Quinn's latest attempt to protect the "criminals' monopoly on force."

SB 183 is a gun control bill that leaves in place the very language the court struck down. It's a shame and a scam that Republucans voted for it to start with. Quinn's attempt at looking even farther left in order to make the legislatures garbage look not so left is pretty pathetic.

By voting to override the veto, the Republican Party will PROVE that they are just loyalist democrats with an (R) behind their name. No defender of the republic or of the republican form of government would dare vote for this scam.

Immigration? Bah! That's a diversion. The Republucan party has to stand up for this enumerated inalienable individual RIGHT or they simply stand down and vote for government control over it complete with poll taxes and forced "waiving" of other rights in trade for a permission slip.

Time to choose your fate - REPUBLICANS.

That Quinn is playing games is of no surprise to anyone here. Im hoping that they let the bill die. Here in Macon County Il., last week our States Attorney (along with counterparts in 5 other counties) implemented concealed carry. It was reported in the local news (print & tv) but the National LSM failed to report it. A citizen can carry concealed if:

They have a FOID card (a unconsititutional travesty in itself)

They have documentation of "training". (Either Military DD214, NRA Basic Handgun & Up, State Hunter Safety Course)

They are not under the influence of Drugs or Alcohol.

Being as I was once a NRA LE Firearms Instructor, I am legally carrying today here in my county.

I saw this position by my states attorney to be significant, but the reaction from the media and the web has been lukewarm.

If you want to check into it, The Decatur Herald & Review Newspaper, and WANDTV can confirm my statements.

...to the tune of "Mr. Grinch":

You're a traitor, Mr. Quinn!
You really are a heel.
You've disgraced the Constitution
With another nasty deal.
Mr. Quinn!
You take away our rights,
But they're not yours to steal!

You're a tyrant, Mr. Quinn!
Power is such a drug.
You think that you're a statesman
But you're just a statist thug,
Mr. Quinn!
The State demands cash
But there's no productive one left to mug!

No more gun laws, Mr. Quinn!
You need to go back to school.
Registration, Confiscation
then Genocide, that's the rule.
Mr. Quinn!
You'll generate a new Civil War, you
Historically ignorant fool!

You're a coward, Mr. Quinn!
There's nothing left to save.
You subvert the Constitution
And view yourself as brave,
Mr. Quinn!
If you believe gun bans are right,
Perform the raids yourself, you
Spineless knave!

You're a loser, Mr. Quinn!
A queasy, sleazy twat.
You're probably good for something
But we've no idea what,
Mr. Quinn!
You are a perfect example of
A feminized, nanny-state do-gooder,
Spendthrift, Constitutional Oath-breaker, who, in his treason,
Has earned a trial, and then shot!

You're a target, Mr. Quinn!
You simply must resign.
A firing squad shoots traitors
But hanging would be fine,
Mr. Quinn!
Given your contempt for the Bill
of Rights, you deserve
A box made of pine!
