Flappers with firearms.

Photos of the Girls' rifle team of Drexel Institute, at George Washington University's Corcoran Hall rifle range in March 1925.
Hey, they may be homely but they knew how to shoot.

I think part of the homeliness comes from the very unflattering styles of the day. The object was to flatten the bust and look 'boyish.' God knows why. A few of those girls might look quite nice if dressed in today's styles and with different hairdos. Anyway, glad I live in a college town.

Girls with gunz is ALWAYS sexy. Anytime. Too bad the freedom genes got lost in the following generations.

Homely, maybe... but dress them up in skimpy belly shirts and give them belly-button piercings and tramp stamps and loosen up the hair and ... WooHoo!!

Speaking of women's rifles teams... Imagine anyone staging photos like these in DC these days...

There is the story from the Boston Globe about the MIT Women's Pistol Team competing against the USMA West Point and the Coast Guard Academy teams:

Pistol shooting needs to become a NCAA supported sport. That it is not is part of the culture that says that there is no sporting purpose to handguns, which is a myth.

That one on the end looks like she is aiming directly at the camera.

Homely? Have you looked at women in the Democrat Party as of late? It brings tears to my hardened old eyes.

Homely? A low blow, sir. Besides, they look great.

Women are often terrific shots, and I admire them for it. Now, if a few of them had a sense of humor, they would make great human beings. Q: How many feminists does it take to screw in a light bulb. A: That's not funny!
