Hysteria

Janet Napolitano, Director of the Department of Homeland Security in her natural habitat.

It is one thing when unreasoning panic strikes the popular imagination of a portion of the common people.

It is quite another and much more dangerous thing when it seizes the minds of national security government bureaucrats and law enforcement agents with guns.

When THEY react without thinking and falsely label the portion of the populace who in all other times are their most steadfast friends, they force upon us the worst of all worlds -- a landscape of frightened power without reason. And people die as a result. People most surely die.

History proves this beyond argument. The prospect of a politicized national security heirarchy leaping at shadows is for me the most ominous event in an administration which has thus far made a cottage industry of ominous events.

What will this country look like in three more months? Six more months? Another year?

The collective unreason embodied in the MIAC Report and the DHS screed on so-called "right wing extremists" would be hysterically funny were it not deadly dangerous.

Yet, what are we to do? How do we throw cold water in the faces of frightened anonymous bureaucrats and tell them to "get a grip"? The truth is, we cannot.

Thus these panicked partisans fulfill their own prophecy. They take law-abiding people who are already suspicious of the government's competence and motives and provide evidence that convinces the citizenry that their suspicions are fully justified.

Normally the people should be able to count on the adult supervision in the Congress to prevent a reckless executive branch from compounding its error. Nixon and Clinton come to mind.

But in the present circumstance the hysteria is fully embraced by the Democrat leadership in Congress and by the talking heads of the liberal media.

There ARE NO ADULTS on this playground and the frightened bully has a submachine gun.

I know this because I have seen it before. The same kind of false facts and faulty logic were trumpeted in the aftermath of the Oklahoma City Bombing.

Yet this is more dangerous because in Bill Clinton we had a president who was merely cynically using a golden opportunity to slander his opponents with a broad brush to boost his re-election chances.

These people actually BELIEVE this excrement and are preparing to act upon it.

Even our military is not immune from the virus. The Maryland National Guard warning about "threats" from the Tea Parties is, as most current-serving military personnel know, just so much "Force Protection" boiler plate.

But we must ask how it is that the threshhold for "threats" is so low as to incorporate traditional forms of American political speech? What's next? Advisories about roaming gangs of Girl Scouts selling cookies at extortionate prices?

And aren't these the same Democrats who chanted "Bush lied and people died" about faulty WMD intelligence?

At least the truth about WMDs was concealed beyond the borders of a far-off country run by a brutal dictatorship, thereby making verification difficult. These folks have no such excuse.

If the national security apparatus of the United States of America wants to know the philosophical and operational underpinnings of the constitutionalist movement, they need only read a book by the historian Robert Churchill, To Shake Their Guns in the Tyrant's Face and the extensive end notes in the documentation at the back of the work.

Yet why do they not take this simple step? Because they fear that what they will find is that the historical legitimacy of the constitutional militia paradigm of armed and active citizenship as the gaurantor of individual liberty would challenge every prejudice and pre-conception thay had and would shake them to the very core.

It is exactly this question of legitimacy that is at the heart of the issue here. It is why they lie. It is why they feign ignorance, why they slander and why they attack.

I submit to you that there is more legitimacy that the Founders would recognize in the simple oath of a soldier;in the practice of the armed citizenry; in the "leave us the hell alone" cry of the home schooler, the entrepreneur, the farmer entangled in redtape, the rancher plagued by BLM environmental nit-wittery and the feeble protest of a ten year old condemned to indentured servitude, chained to the national debt for the rest of his life than in ANY of these so-called "official experts" who take our money in order to lie about us for their own political power.

There is no doubt that in the space of two national election cycles the Democrats have achieved total political power. They believe that this and this alone provides them with the political legitimacy to do to us what they may.

They do not understand that this is supposed to be a constitutional republic and that when democracy turns to tyranny, we STILL get to vote.

When you boil it down, the wages of official lies is future death. The DHS right-wing extremist canard will, if unrebutted, get a whole lot of people very dead in the fullness of time.

These are not innocent lies. They are what is known in military parlance as intelligence preparation of the battlespace. The conflation in the public mind of veterans, political speechmakes and constitutional militia men with mad dog neoNazi terrorists is not just to make us ignorable or to discredit us in the court of public opinion but to kill all of us for what they perceive as a good cause.

They understand this. And so must we.

The lines of future conflict over what sort of nation this will be are being broadly spray-painted with an imprecise aim in day-glo colors for a reason.

Like the Bolsheviks and the the National Socialists before them, these collectivists have long lists of the enemies they intend to deal with. The only question is will the intended victims -- you and me -- sit still and allow them to do it.

It's all so outrageous-

Is it POSSIBLE that they are deliberately trying to

instigate some type of violent action on "our" part?????????????

Damn it! Just when I had my blood pressure down, here you go raising it through the roof again.

Hopefully we here in the West will have at least a little warning, with time enough to barracide the doors before the s**t storm hits.

While I agree with perhaps 99% of your comment the one thing we have to remember is that Obama is only publishing and acting on much of what Bush started. It doesn't make it any better or worse, just is.

Not as big as most, but as the saying goes: "It is not the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog."

Seriouly though, dark clods are on the horizon, may we be granted a peaceful means to this hell which approches. If not may we be swift and steadfast in our resolve.

Something we must make sure of is when the time comes, these slime must NEVER be allowed to hold office again. The cycle will only repeat itself over and over.

Mike, these people seem to have battle fatigue without ever hearing a shot fired in anger. They shit their pants at the least little noise and run around yelling "the sky is falling, the sky is fallin, help, help the sky is falling". I don't really know what else we can do except wait for their next move, which won't be long in coming. These tea parties are just frustations being worked out by people fed up with the whole scheme of things that are happening, but you already know that. I hope to stand with you at the barricades when the time comes.

Actually, I believe this only brings more troops into the patriotic fold. People are highly pissed.

The administration's recent wave of lies and untruth that they used to portray the militia movement has been a proven tactic tried by tyrants throughout the ages. This tactic of spreading blatant lies date back to the Roman persecution of the early Christians. The twisted propaganda speeches made by Nero and Caligula drew millions to hold vehement hatred against the Christians. If these Roman citizens would have been questioned by a historian: "Why did you hate the Christians?"
Their answer would have been: "I don't really know. Our Emperor tells us to hate them, that is probably why"

However, they were never questioned by people who actually had common sense. Those who probably did know that Nero's persecution of Christians was completely irratic and senseless, they did not dare speak out, out of fear of crucifixion, or being devoured alive by lions and tigers in that bloody arena, cheered on by the bloodthirsy applause of millions of brainwashed and indoctrinated watchers.

The professional liars at SPLC and elsewhere probably thought they are the few who learned lessons from history. Indeed that is true, while the majority of the nation continues to stare at their iPod screens and can care less. These professional liars use their understanding of history in order to repeat it's bloody past, to place the gory chains back onto the population again.

However, they are not the only ones who learned lessons from the past. We are also scholars and writers and historians who know what the motive of these socialist parasites are. Let us be ready to write our own essays and crack apart each and every one of their lies. The collectivists have picked an opponent for their chess game who is just as smart and cunning as they are, if not smarter and more cunning.

Who is ready to play propaganda chess? I sure as hell am.

Qi Ji Guang, bravo! History seems to be a very weak subject in America, as the populace have shown. No one thinks, no one studies, they just mimic what they hear on the news and never question the source. A select few in gov't study basic human psychology and play it from there. The people's actions are very predictable based on statistics of past behavior patterns. The larger the group, the less they seem to think, just mimic the leader. Fear of looking stupid in front of your peers.Even if the tea parties don't make a dent, things are starting to move at a very fast pace and many factions of the gov't are trying to create scenarios to both cover their ass and put the blame on others. These people aren't smart enough to outwit us on every front and very soon they are going to dig their own grave. They can blame all of this on guns and terrorism, but their lying and stealing will soon betray them. I don't believe they can stop any more dominos from tipping over. Semper Fi, my brothers!

I've spent a good part of today reading and re-reading the DHS assessment on Right Wing Extremism. The report pretty well boils down to; If you believe in and support the Constitution of the United States, especially if you are a veteran, you very well could be a right wing extremist and very possibly a potential threat to the government.

A direct quote from the report - "Federal efforts to influence domestic public opinion must be conducted in an overt and transparent manner, ..." And, then, "This document is unclassified for official use only. It contains information ... and is not to be released to the public, the media, or other personnel who do not have a valid need to know ...".

Sooo, The most efficient way to conduct business in an "overt and transparent manner" is to ensure that no information should be released to the media or the general public. ????

One factor is self evident and has been since the 1700's - The harder any government attempts to push a free AMERICAN, the harder the free AMERICAN will push back. And, you can take that to the bank! The acronymic army of the federal bureaucracies is pushing untold millions of free Americans into what this document has labeled right wing extremism. Are you listening, Janet???

One must wonder if the multitude of recent government actions are designed to draw out people to action, thus giving the government their excuse to clamp down even more. The government is poking the rattlesnake repeatedly. The yet undecided factor- who will strike first? Premature bites only expose your neck. It's all a matter of time.

The scary part is that this report was only a summary. So what else was contained in the report?

It appears that the administration is far more concerned about honest god fearing Americans than open borders or terrorists from other nations.

It appears to me that they are trying to force a fight. No doubt that fight will come in good time and I will be there to defend the constitution I swore an oath to.
