I have a hunch it is related to the fact that you cannot simply log into the router but can go in once accepting the T&C of the hotel's WiFi. I was constantly getting dropouts and having problems getting out.

Stay safe on the trip. Don't do anything that will get you tossed in jail without consulting Rosie first. If you can discover the IP address for AOL - there will be a ton of 'em, you might give that a shot. Also a good idea to have that anyway in case the DNS servers are shut down - will give you a bit more online time before a total shutdown happens.Earl Flanigannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7575061201749703300.post-6993518406755338402015-05-28T07:31:41.110-05:002015-05-28T07:31:41.110-05:00In most cases corporate IT folks can't keep up...In most cases corporate IT folks can't keep up with what sites to block so they "outsource" the list and maybe even the proxy server it resides on. My former employer, BellSouth, at one point blocked NRA but not NRA/ILA. No it doesn't make any sense but then it doesn't have to. It just needs to generate revenue for the company who lands the IT service contract. Nobody checks up on this stuff much less has the horsepower to get it fixed. And the corporate board would say "What's a blacklist?" Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
