To be sure this is not the first and won't be the last.
With all due respect, Chris H, to heck with finding a local cache when the fit hits the shan. What do we sportsmen and sportswomen do in the meantime? Not everyone will be able to do find a govco sponsored cache nor will everyone want to do that. I'm certainly not waiting until then and taking the chance of not having what I need. Heck it's getting increasingly difficult to just prep for NRA matches on the 'pay as you go' plan. It's at the plum silly stage and will likely get worse.

It's time to simply be entrepreneurial as Greyhawk says and start a company that makes brass. A single transfer press, a set of dies, a few coils of 70/30 Brass and you're off. Having done this kind of work for a living, I'll tell you there are lots of details to consider and of course money. Transfer presses can be found on the used market, but require a keen mechanic to get up and running and keep running. In short, they can be a real pain if you don't know what your doing.

The transfer dies will be the expensive part. For the right team, it ain't that complicated. Don't even need to make complete cartridges, just brass in say, .223or .308 to start... .45 or 9mm would be considerably less complicated.

I'll add that there are other legal and resourceful ways to do this without investing gobs of money. Those that know me are welcome to contact me to discuss... Most tool shops are hurting right now, so it would be a good time to make a deal...

BobcatAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7575061201749703300.post-80708748883081403892009-03-14T17:35:00.000-05:002009-03-14T17:35:00.000-05:00Re: VanderboeghIn the end I expect the NRA to just...Re: Vanderboegh

In the end I expect the NRA to just find a "compromise" and forget the whole issue. I thought "surrender" was only for the French. I was mistaken.

For stuff like that, and for their role in the 1935 and 1968 sodomizing of our 2nd Amendment rights, I am not a member of NRA anymore. I am now a proud member of JPFO.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7575061201749703300.post-55126546039723306222009-03-14T17:25:00.000-05:002009-03-14T17:25:00.000-05:00Sez Caleb: "Right now, the word is from DOD to the...Sez Caleb: "Right now, the word is from DOD to the NRA that they hope to have a WAIVER put into place within a two or three weeks which will CORRECT this situation and return once fired brass, .50 caliber and below to the sales policies previously used!!!"

I'll believe it when I see it.

Then sez Caleb: "Boy, it's sure too bad that those do nothing Lairds of Fairfax haven't done anything about this...you know, except for getting DoD to put a stop to it. It only takes a set of equipment, and knowledge in that particular field in order to start cranking out marksmanship-quality brass.

I know this by heart and can say it with pride because I have been a self-sufficient marksman for a long time. I haven't had the chance to actually manufacture my own brass, but I resize, cut, and clean my own.

Yep, another sign of fear from the globalists. First try to regulate assault weapons so civilians cannot compete with the stormtroopers in terms of firepower. Then, cut off the supply of brass hoping to starve out the self-reliant militiamen living in the remote areas of the country. Only a total idiot won't realize what these fascists are up to.

IIIAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7575061201749703300.post-65168739593780985792009-03-14T13:16:00.000-05:002009-03-14T13:16:00.000-05:00Greyhawk - I know a good investment when I see one...Greyhawk - I know a good investment when I see one. Frankly I see cutting off ammo from being imported as a criminal act.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7575061201749703300.post-60223688330773763422009-03-14T08:50:00.000-05:002009-03-14T08:50:00.000-05:00And, if anybody is serious about taking the proble...And, if anybody is serious about taking the problem in hand and building their own munitions company, here's one that recently went out of business and still has some equipment for sale:

http://www.nationalbullet.com/Brian K Millerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02184256581832572001noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7575061201749703300.post-37821843068575703582009-03-14T07:55:00.000-05:002009-03-14T07:55:00.000-05:00That's ok. If you can find a group of chemists, metalurgists, and assembly line specialists, draw up the proper incorporation papers, secure sources for raw materials, and find a factory site, I'll happily put up $5000 to invest in a new ammunition company with production in someplace like Montana or Ohio.

$5000 might not sound like much, but if you multiply that by 10-15,000 core investors, you'll have more than enough to get started.

Show me a real business plan and I'll pony up my share of the start-up capital!Brian K Millerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02184256581832572001noreply@blogger.com
