Eisenhower had already devised a plan for the invasion of Cuba and Kennedy scrapped it because he didn't want to use a "Republican" plan.

The Bay of Pigs was selected as an alternate site, the plan slapped together in 4 weeks and then, at the most critical moment, Kennedy cancelled the air cover. Not since Roosevelt abandoned the troops at Bataan and Corregidor has a President been so celebrated for failure.

For more information, check out the book "Decision for Disaster: The Battle of the Bay of Pigs" by Grayston Lynchebd10noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7575061201749703300.post-61438684040282899852010-01-06T12:50:49.540-06:002010-01-06T12:50:49.540-06:00Another sad loss from the Greatest Generation...RI...Another sad loss from the Greatest Generation...RIP Joe, RIP.Old NFOhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16404197287935017147noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7575061201749703300.post-20730192292026781292010-01-06T12:30:04.487-06:002010-01-06T12:30:04.487-06:00Joe Shannon --- what a man! I know this is OT, but I feel like it'...Mike,

I know this is OT, but I feel like it's important!

I'm AMAZED you haven't commented on Dear Reader's executive order granting interpol essential exemption from all the Constitutional protections placed upon our domestic alphabet agencies.

With this granting of immunity, they're now utterly immune from discovery, FOIA, prosecution and other reasonable limitations.

With this granting of immunity, an interpol operative could literally murder any of us in front of numerous witnesses - and the police couldn't so much as pull him over.

This is a clear and blatant surrender of our sovereignty. Further - given that they're headquartered in every Federal and most state LE agencies from the DOJ on down - they're already perfectly positioned to assist our domestic thugs in bypassing our Constitutional protections.

For example: If the ATF wanted to "sneak-n-peek" in your house but couldn't get a warrant, they could simply have their interpol counterpart do it for them. The evidence obtained - since no laws were actually broken in its collection - could be used against you but the usual discovery and other subpoena powers would be worthless.

Further, since Interpol agents and their records are immune from subpoena, and their offices inviolable, our domestic jackboots could simply hand over to them any and all material they wanted to keep out of the hands of The Defendant (you).

These are just a few examples that have occurred to me and others - I'm sure the reality is even more worrisome. The fact that this opens the door to "international" prosecution of our soldiers and others is bad enough, but when the full ramifications or possibilities are considered this may well be the worst thing ever done to our Republic -- all with the stroke of a tyrant's pen.

What f***ing country is this again??!!

We need to stop worrying about "blue helmets" -- I'm not sure what the UOD is for these interpol thugs but we sure need to find out...

God Save Our Republic!!

PS: Captcha word = "disam" -- sort of much too close to a worrisome coincidence, huh??Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7575061201749703300.post-6867297282187667472010-01-06T11:23:35.431-06:002010-01-06T11:23:35.431-06:00Mr. Shannon was the sort of man who has largely di...Mr. Shannon was the sort of man who has largely disappeared from our society. I look around today at the metrosexual sissies - even the "straight" boys spend more on clothes than a lot of girls and think facials, manicures and the like are desirable...

Try to imagine one of these fairies standing up to The Enemy -- if you can you should be writing fiction.

Though our Military is largely filled with more masculine sorts, as has been so pointedly noted recently, in large majority they're simply not educated as they need to be and thus simply aren't men of the caliber of our Fathers and Grandfathers.

It's long past time we put away political correctness and started speaking blunt truth at all times. A straight guy doesn't NEED a "queer eye" - and any man who wants to follow their fashion dictates should probably go ahead and face the reality he's hiding from even himself.

I'm not saying a man can't or shouldn't be able to dress well - this simply isn't so. The fact remains that he doesn't need to obsess about it, doesn't need more than a few pairs of shoes, and if he's spending more on cosmetics than his Mom? Time to face some facts.

Further, while women may believe they're attracted to such sissies, numerous studies show that when it's time to get down to business she (or at least the parts most of us care about) wants the Marlboro man - not some effeminate fashion plate.

Among all the things The Enemy has slowly destroyed, masculinity is probably the one that's damaged us most...

I can't recommend Fred Reed's treatises on the subject in strong enough terms -- Google for his bits about Marlboro Man or neuter-man...

God help us...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7575061201749703300.post-19763243810689343092010-01-06T09:05:04.066-06:002010-01-06T09:05:04.066-06:00God bless Mr. Shannon's family and may he rest...God bless Mr. Shannon's family and may he rest in peace.

I have no doubt that his air support of the Salerno landings aided my uncle who hit Red beach at Paestum at 0345 hours on September 9th, 1943. Although my uncle was later KIA in Italy in June it probably would have happened much sooner (at Salerno) if not for the heroic support of the Army Air Corps (as well as the 82nd Airborne and the artillerymen who dropped tubes and stopped German Panzers from pushing the beach head back into the ocean with direct fire).

God bless you Joe Shannon!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
