"Pro-gun" New Jersey Judas goat's proposals for the rest of us.

You're gonna love this.
There needs to be a Federal database of all guns and gun owners.
7-day waiting period before a gun is purchased and background checks on every purchase.
Elimination of unregulated gun selling / trading events. Every gun sold needs to be in the Federal registry.
There should be a set standard for gun ownership. Currently, it is left in the discretion of local authorities who sometimes error incorrectly either way. If you have committed an aggravated felony you can’t have a gun. If you have mental health issues you get a hearing to determine your status. If you don’t fall into those categories, you can’t be denied a gun.
Let’s do as the Israelis do. Currently, here in the USA, most sports arenas have searches on the way in. That needs to be effectuated on any public place where there are crowds. In Israel, you can’t enter a movie theater, bar, mall, etc., without bags being searched and wanded by a metal / bomb detector.
Most gun crimes are committed by repeat offenders. There needs to be mandatory minimum jail sentences for any crime committed with a gun. Sell drugs while carrying a gun and get 10 years in prison – do it again, get 20 years. We need to let the bad guys know, gun crime gets you real time.

Well, I guess the second amendment covers progressives too. And opinions are cheap, especially for them. I'll bet he believes this will work for the underage, felony, and otherwise disqualified ghetto rats that are the source of the statistics, as well as illegals.

My initial thoughts were "follow the money", like deposits to his checking account. Or, perhaps payment of his legal bills.

Imprecatory Psalms for his sidearm to malfunction and F2F when he needs it the most.

There's gotta be something in the water these folks are drinking. I keep seeing more and more of this type article floating around. Makes ya'(well, me anyway)wonder if something "official" is coming down the tracks like a juggernaut trying to demolish anyone and anything in it's path. Of course, after reading: "The Unseen Hand" by, A. Ralph Epperson, I find myself doubting that anything like this can be thought either accidental or concindental.

One would think he'd have learned by now to never trust government with your rights.

Hows about we condemn insane judges to psychiatric institutions with straight jackets, rubber walls and lots and lots of Thorazine?

Why do they always preface their list of proposed arms infringements by saying, "I'm pro-Constitution and I support the 2nd Amendment?" Don't they realize that only leaves the reader to conclude that they are either lying, or they are incompetent to speak on the subject matter?

The logical answer is to make murder, kidnapping at gunpoint and armed robbery illegal. Once that is done, no one need infringe upon the right to keep and bear arms.

Just smile when they slip up and say that laws don't stop crime, thus proving your point with regard to arms infringement laws.

It's not much of a surprise that the Good Mangina Project would be behind an anti-gun hit piece like this.

Hi Mike,
After all the kr#p this guy went thru, to come up with these ideas is beyond me?? Like someone said about NJ....maybe it's something in the water??
As I recall, NJ is one of those states "above" the Mason-Dixon line!! It can stay there.

This is what happens to people that grow up in a slave environment. It twists their logic. I'm thinking what he really meant was HE should have a gun and not everyone else. Because he's a (his words) "good guy". As opposed to all us "bad guys". I'll also bet this guy has plenty of Fudds as friends. And if armed confrontation did break out between patriots and an over zealous gov't, he'd be at town hall trying to find the rules and laws of shooting back at unconstitutional tyrants..

I tried to debate with a member of the herd the simple fact that we are unequivocally heading for balkanization. His point was that we have too much vested interest in keeping up appearances abroad that we would not attempt anything so drastic. If we cant even agree on simple God given right to self-defense, what more do we have to talk about? What more do we have in common? At what point do we stop the charade? At least the left is coming clean with who they are and what they want.

And any crime while in office should carry the death penality

They have shitted up their state to the point that they are losing their tax base, have the highest crime rates ect, yet they know whats best for the country? I submit they need to suck start a road flair and stick with it to the spike. Baltimore, Detroit, Chicago, Birmingham, DC, NY-NY, an most every city in Ca. is/are a prime example of their leadership ability's. They call us hillbilly's or dumb ass hicks, yet where is/are business's moving to and why?

There is already a set standard for gun ownership. It is called Citizenship.

Well the problem is no one in the District of Criminals has any morality. Nor common sense. The criminal's in charge state wide. Follow the script of their collectivist master's in in D.C. Nothing will change till the "Tree of Liberty" ,is refreshed and reset.

Now if we could just get this clown to read all the comments on this page, maybe (unlikely though) he'd start to see the madness in his method. Being from upstate NY ( you know, the place with a 95% non-compliance rate to the Safe act) I'm in NJ quite often to visit in-laws. I HATE GOING THERE! The drivers suck, they're all shallow materialists, think having Republican ideals means being like Chris Christie and none except for those living in Sussex county which borders upstate NY and is mostly farmland, know the business end of a gun. I even speak to some that are awake to what's happening in America yet they have no foodstuffs or even a weapon to defend themselves in case of emergency. Hudson county, just across the Hudson from NYC is a place where you'll never hear English spoken and is more like Guatemala than America. Located therein is Jersey City, where I believe every Mayor has been indicted for corruption at one time or another. Bordering Hudson is Bergen county, one of the richest (if not THE richest) county in America. What they call suburbs most of us would call overcrowded urban environment. To say people in NJ have a bit of reality confusion is a big understatement. Of course the in-laws think we're nuts to be prepared for emergency events. But let TSHTF and my phone will be off the hook and I'll be giggling reading the reports of mayhem coming out of the "Garden State"..

@James Hanna: "Why do they always preface their list of proposed arms infringements by saying, "I'm pro-Constitution and I support the 2nd Amendment?""

Because they always want to couch their statements with the veneer of legality and constitutionality.
